Vaseline 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly

If you can relate to this minor crisis, there is one thing that you can buy that only costs a couple of bucks, but can work wonders for so many areas of your face and body. You might find it hard to believe, but it's a jar of Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline. Yep, that's right. It's definitely a "miracle oil" and a secret ingredient that every college girl needs.

Here's why:

Petroleum jelly is great for your skin.

If you naturally have excessively dry skin, or the skin on your face tends to crack during the winter months, applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly can help to restore the moisture that has been lost. It's not just good for your face, though.

When you just get out of the shower, by applying it to your body before you towel off, you will have skin that is very soft and supply for the rest of the day. It's also a nice additive when it comes to homemade manicures and pedicures.

Right before the final step of polishing your nails, put on a generous amount, rub it in, place some clean socks over your hands and feet for about 10 minutes and then rinse off. Your hands and feet will be silky smooth, for sure.

Petroleum jelly for perfect nail polish

After applying nail polish you may rub a little of petroleum jelly around your cuticles. So while applying, even if you do get it over the skin, you can easily remove it off. At the same time, this helps in  softening cuticles at the same time.

For a Dewy look With Petroleum Jelly

Smear a smudge of Vaseline on your finger and apply over the top of the cheekbone for a dewy look, apply a little at a time, remember you can always add but its much more difficult to take away.

You can also mix a little blusher into this to give your cheeks a little color.

Petroleum jelly for beautiful eyes.

If you're low on mascara, no worries. You can put a dab of petroleum jelly on your lashes and it will be next to the best thing. Are your eyebrows a little unruly? By applying a thin layer of the jelly onto them and then brushing along the brow line, they will easily remain in their place for the rest of the day.

Do you want your eye shadow to intensify in color and last for hours on end? Use some petroleum jelly as the "base" before applying it. Oh, and at the end of the day, petroleum jelly is also a quick way to remove that very same eye shadow too.

It's also a good idea to rub a small amount to the eye lashes before going to sleep to condition them. Some swear that applying petroleum jelly to the eyelashes at night results in  thicker and longer lashes.

Vaseline hacks for your hair

Being a college girl, it's quite natural for you be bothered by split ends. But did you know that you could use petroleum jelly to tame split ends?

While technically you cannot get rid of split ends for good  with petroleum jelly, you can easily camouflage the hair affected with it by using the petroleum jelly  tame soften them down. Take some vaseline and rub it on your palms and coat it on your strands to  smoothen the split ends.

Flyaways and tiny hair sticking out bothering your? Fret not! You can now flaunt that sleek ponytail or a messy bun, without ruining your look and without spending much on hair setting products.

Yes, you right! By applying vaseline to all the baby hair that stick out, you can tame them and keep them in place.

Petroleum jelly hacks for your lips.

If you are working to get a degree in criminal justice and you have a presentation to make in class, when it comes to a "beauty violation", there's simply nothing more criminal than standing in front of a room full of people with chapped lips. This is why it's a good idea to carry a portable jar of petroleum jelly either in your purse or backpack.

If you like a certain shade of lipstick, but you want it to have more of a glossy feel, you can rub a bit of lipstick on the back of your hand, then put a dab of petroleum jelly on it, mix it together and, there you have it: instant lip gloss in your favorite hue.

Oh, and speaking of speaking in public, it's also pretty tacky to be talking with lipstick on your teeth. By applying a thin amount across your teeth before putting your lipstick on, you will avoid that mini-crisis as well. Pretty impressive for just a couple of dollars, isn't it? We think so too.

In closing

Petroleum jelly is the one beauty item that saves time and money. It's always a good idea to  always carry a small pot of petroleum jelly with you as it  is a really useful product for nights out, staying over at a friends after a party or a weekend break when you don't want to pack or carry much.

I think everybody should have a jar of vaseline in the house. I use it at night to moisturize the skin underneath and around my eyes. Its one of the best beauty secrets there is. Also before bed, I coat my feet with it and then slip on some socks....in the morning your feet will be super soft!
