1. Medications
Oral medications, topical lotions and tablets are often prescribed for re-growth of hair and are mostly effective in bringing a positive change for people who are suffering from acute hair loss. However, though these drugs are largely deemed as effective, it is extremely important to consult with your physician first in order to ascertain the main underlying reason for hair loss.

Your physician will then prescribe you the required medication and dosage depending upon your condition. Also, there are several medications that are meant for only men, or women. Therefore, it is important to check on with our physician before starting any hair loss treatment.

a) Minoxidil
Minoxidil is an FDA approved hair loss treatment drug that can be used by both men and women in order to stimulate hair growth. Available in drops and lotion form, topical application of Minoxidil has had raving reviews and positive results on a large majority, making it a number one choice of most people suffering from severe hair fall. According to clinical studies, 40% women (age group of 18-45) experienced minimal hair growth while 18% were reported to have moderate hair growth in the first eight months of using Minoxidil.

b) Finasteride
Normally marketed as Propecia, Finasteride is another popular drug used for effective hair loss treatment. Only recommended for males, this drug has shown visible re-growth in just six months and provides promising results in arresting further hair loss.
2. Hair Transplants

For those who are looking for a more permanent and quick solution to hair loss, surgery may be an optional. Today, there are many sophisticated and safe options available for hair transplants which can greatly relieve stress of those who have lost a large portion of their hair.
Hair transplant is more popular amongst men as they can provide a fairly quick and feasible solution for balding patches. Many clinics and physicians perform safe hair transplants, and they can definitely be opted as a last resort if you have lost too much of your hair already.

3. Laser Therapy

Laser therapy is also gaining popularity as an effective solution to combat hair loss. In this area, the introduction of DIY laser combs etc has been also been perceived as an effective solution for increasing blood flow in the scalp and stimulating growth of hair. However, it is important to consult a physician before undergoing this treatment in order to be on the safe side.

4. Alternative Medicine

Prevention of hair fall is a more feasible option than going for medication and surgery after hair loss. If you notice weakening hair follicles, there are a large number of alternative options available to restore the natural strength and shine of hair.

These herbal or natural remedies are generally preferred by most people, as they offer much less health risks and side effects that are normally associated with oral medications. Apart from herbal and home treatments, aromatherapy and homeopathic cures for reducing the amount of hair fall are also widely used and have proven to be effective for a large majority.

5. Diet Supplements

A change in lifestyle and incorporation of healthy and nutritious elements can prove to be a safe and natural remedy to hair loss. Foods rich in iron, proteins, omega 3 fatty acids and zinc are touted to be elemental in reducing hair fall and encouraging hair growth. You can also go for over-the-counter supplements to make up for nutritional deficiencies in your body.

Pore shrinking mask recipes from home

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily skins to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.  Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.  Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size. It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results.  Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever makeup and a few natural skin care masks such as these: * Cleanse your face with a mild ...
