Reducing the damage of hair straighteners

Millions undergo the practice of straightening their hair each and every day, some in fact carrying on the process several times throughout the day. The idea of being able to tame curly or frizzy hair into sleek, manageable and elegant styles without the need for a hairdresser is indeed appealing, which is furthered by the fact that none of the dangerous chemicals used by professionals need to be added into the mix. However, just because the chemicals are taken out of the equation does not mean that home straightening cannot significantly damage hair, which is something that all users of straighteners should be aware of in order to limit the damage as much as possible.

Nose hairs dangling out? Trim them with nose hair trimmers

You all must be familiar with this particular  situation! You see an impeccably dressed and otherwise well-groomed person – could even be one of your close friends or a relative. But when you see few nose hairs protruding out of his/her nostrils, you instantly experience a slight shudder and disgust at the person’s indiscretion, while he or she may not even be aware of it. Outwardly it might appear to be a frivolous matter, but surely it’s not something that should be brushed aside as hairs peeking out of the nostrils are extremely distracting and look ostensibly unsightly.

Hana Flat iron review

Hana Ceramic Flat irons are by far the best flat irons around. Made of 100% pure ceramic, they are available at an affordable price even for non-celebrities. Most ceramic flat irons plates are usually made of aluminium and coated with ceramic which doesn’t make them the real “ceramic flat irons.” The Hana straightening plates, however are made of 100% reinforced tourmaline ceramic with no external coating, are smoother, more durable, and superior at heat distribution and retention. Furthermore they don’t peel and are scratch-resistant too. Even heat distribution of the ceramic plates ensures that it’s gentle on your hair with no exposure to damaging hot metal, whatsoever. And the black ceramic plates never discolor, no matter what hair product you use or how often you iron. The damp to dry styling feature of this flat iron is also great. Tourmaline generates intense negative ions to condition damaged hair follicles for healthy frizz-free shine that lasts. There’s no sizzle w...

UNIL InfraShine Ceramic Flat Iron

If you wish to style your hair from the comforts of your home and without the hassles of visiting a saloon, then you should consider buying a hair straightner. UNIL InfraShine Ceramic Flat Iron which is available at the online stores Missiko is a good choice. The reason it is better to choose a ceramic flat iron over a metal one is that its heating time is shorter where only a few seconds are required to heat the hair straightener while knowing that your hair gets the required hair straightening. The ceramic plates on the hair straightener emit ions that help neutralize the positive ionic charges in frizzy and dry hair. With this neutralization of the charges, you soon get smooth and shiny hair. As always, you have to remember certain things and follow all the basic precautions while handling. The most important point to remember is to never use ceramic flat irons on wet hair as you might get an electrical shock. Never jerk the flat iron through your hair, run it along your ha...

A Magnetic device to zap migraines

I’ve always had this problem of migraines; it used to strike me unawares at odd times; usually once in a month and would almost suck the life out of me. As I am practising Anulom Vilom , Bhramari and Kapalabhati Pranayam (breathing exercises) regularly these days, the frequency and intensity of the attacks have reduced significantly. Now this piece of news caught my attention. It seems that a strange-looking magnetic device has been invented to stop a migraine in its tracks. It’s called Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation - or TMS. The patient puts a device on the back of the head, and pushes a button, sending a magnetic pulse into the skull. Dr. Richard Lipton of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine said "It actually generates a very small amount of current that flows through the brain and the assumption is that current is what turns off the migraine attack." About 25 percent of migraine headaches are preceded by what's called an aura, including visual chan...

An MP3 player which cures acne

You have zits all over your face and desperately yearn for a clear complexion. You also love listening to music. Then this is the gadget that will fulfill both your needs. A Tokyo based company has come up with a weird MP3 player which claims to zap pimples instantly. According to this source , it’s a pretty ordinary 1.2-ounce mpion MP3 player that holds only 128MB of music (approx 20 mins), but promises to clear your face of zits while pumping melodious tunes into your ears. Apparently, you have to touch the device to the offending area as you listen to tunes, flip the switch to minus, and hold for 5-10 minutes. Allegedly, the negative ions open pores and replenish moisture. Then you have to flip it to positive and hold to reduce oil and close your pores back up. The price is rather steep and it costs around 21000 yen, which works out to about $185. Does this gadget actually work on pimples? Absolutely, no idea.
