Face masks for oily, greasy skin

These masks are very tingly and drying and hence suitable only for greasy and oily skin. Avoid these on dry skins, though.

face mask

Peppermint mask

Ingredients:
1/4th teaspoon peppermint extract
1 egg white
1 teaspoon multani mitti (fuller’s earth)

Method:
Mix the egg white and multani mitti together into a paste and add the peppermint extract. Apply it to the face and wash off after 15 minutes. This mask tightens and stimulates the skin.

Citrus mask

Ingredients:
1/4th grapefruit
juice of 1/4th lemon
1/4th apple (cored)
1 egg-white
10 seedless grapes

Method:
Mix the ingredients in a blender. Apply on your face and leave for 15 minutes. Then rinse off with warm water. Grapefruit opens clogged pores and lemon is an excellent astringent and cleanser, while egg-whites tighten the skin.

Oily skin is like a bratty child, it needs constant attention. First, if you feel your makeup is causing the build up then start by making sure you're using oil free makeup. Neutrogena has a lot of great products for this, I personaly opt to use bare essentials because it's light and airy and I don't like the feeling of wearing makeup. Second, if you don't already, use oil controling products as a part of your beauty regimen. Use an oil control cleanser, followed by a toner, and then lastly by your favorite oil free moisturizer. I like Clinique's Dratmatically Different moisturizer, it's perfect for oily skin. Next, you should be washing your face, at least twice a day (AM and PM) and after workouts to keep your pores clean and shine free. Lastly, keep oil blotting sheets in your purse at all times. It's way more effective blotting your face with these sheets than trying to cover up the shine wtih more makeup/power (which can actually make it worse.) Hope this helps! Good luck!

The linoleic acid in primrose oil is one of the most effective treatments for skin disorders including oily skin. Make sure you get at least 500mg of primrose oil every day, and you’ll go a long way in eliminating oily skin.

After washing your face with warm water and drying it wait a couple of seconds and rinse your face again with COLD water. This will close the pores and should reduce the oil output.

Only use this face mask if your skin responds well to it. Don't use the face mask if you find your skin is too dry after or you have an allergic reaction.

Pore shrinking mask recipes from home

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily skins to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.  Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.  Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size. It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results.  Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever makeup and a few natural skin care masks such as these: * Cleanse your face with a mild ...
