Dump the Sugary Drinks: 10 Ways to Boost Your Energy Naturally

More than 43 percent of people surveyed report downing energy drinks for a pick-me-up. That number jumps to more than 50 percent when you talk to college students.

These high-caffeine, high-sugar drinks are considered unsafe in some circles and, at the very least, unhealthy by medical professionals.

Energy drinks often contain glucuronolactone, which when combined with ingredients like taurine and caffeine can prevent the effects of energy depletion, even after physically exhausting activities.

But you can't drink energy drinks multiple times a day safely.

Instead of turning to an aluminum can for your energy, use one of these natural boosters:

1.Get Some Sun

You don't need to lay out in your backyard in your best bikini for an energy boost. Just 15 to 20 minutes of sunshine is enough to perk up your mood.

Get out from under the fluorescent lights and take your lunch outside. You'll feel better by the time your break is over.

Soak up in the Sun

2.Move

It sounds simple, but moving can give you energy. This is especially true for people who work in an office all day.

The next time you're feeling a bit drained, stand up and move around your desk. A few minutes worth of movement will jump start your heart.

3.Green Tea

If you find yourself craving an energy drink, sip on a cup of green tea instead. Green tea contains less caffeine than coffee but enough to give you a boost.

As a bonus, green tea also has EGCG, a chemical that promotes weight loss, according to Dr. Elizabeth Trattner in Miami Beach, Florida.

4.Blink

You may feel silly blinking purposefully but each blink gives your brain a quick break. If you are reading or staring at a computer screen, try to blink 20 times each minute.

It's a simple way to give yourself the energy you need to finish your day.

5.Buy a Juicer

The act of buying a juicer isn't going to give you energy, but the amazing drinks you can create with it will.

Combine four leaves of kale, four leaves of romaine lettuce, half of a lemon, a cored apple, one inch of ginger root, and a single clove of garlic.

6.Breathe Correctly

Did you know that most people don't breathe correctly? The average person breathes in a very shallow way. The next time you need an increase in energy levels, concentrate on your breathing.

Sit up straight, draw in a deep breath while counting to six. Hold your breath for a three count and exhale slowly. Repeat this breathing exercise several times.

7.Find a Friend

We all have that friend that is happy and full of energy no matter the situation; go find him. Energy is contagious.

Spending even 15 minutes with your joyful friend will instantly elevate your mood and force the cobwebs out of your head.

If you're friend isn't available, go find the office prankster or someone else who will be guaranteed to make you laugh for a few minutes.

8.Sit Up

Give your posture a bit of thought right now. Are you sitting with your shoulders hunched and your neck thrust forward? Most people bend themselves completely out of shape, reducing blood flow to the brain.

Take a moment and sit up straight. Imagine a string emerging from the top of your head, pulling you towards the ceiling.

Try to hold your stretched position for two to five minutes. The more often you practice sitting correctly, the more natural it will become.

9.Drink Water

Glass of Water, Clean , Clear and Cool
One of the biggest energy zappers is dehydration. The next time you're feeling drowsy, pour yourself a glass of water and chug it down.

Try to get yourself in the habit of staying hydrated all day. A bottle of water every two or three hours is plenty when the weather is mild.

When the weather is hot and humid, or you are sweating more, add a few more bottles throughout the day.

10.An Apple a Day

Apple fruit

Skip sugary candies and grab an apple. Candy and other high-sugar foods will cause a crash in blood-glucose levels later in the day, worsening your fatigue.

An apple, on the other hand, helps to stabilize your blood sugar, keeping your energy levels consistent.

Conclusion

Energy drinks are being closely looked at for their safety. If you're addicted to these controversial drinks, it's time to start looking elsewhere for your energy boost.

Health professionals suggest finding new ways to pick yourself up during your work day; your health and vitality may depend on it.

Pore shrinking mask recipes from home

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily skins to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.  Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.  Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size. It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results.  Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever makeup and a few natural skin care masks such as these: * Cleanse your face with a mild ...
