Home Remedies To Protect Your Hair During Winter

For some people winter means snow, Christmas, and hot chocolate. However, for a lot of other people winter just means rough and dry hair. The cold, dry air winter produces can easily give you more than one bad hair day. Dry hair makes it hard for you to style yourself because your hair is too frizzy and brittle.

You can even experience some split ends by sitting in the house with the heater on all day. You definitely need to learn how to protect yourself against the harsh weather winter brings along.

Prevention Some simple things you can do during the winter months to protect your hair includes:
  • Wear a scarf or hat to cover your hair from the cold and wind.
  • Condition your hair often by coating your hair with a good conditioner.
  • Use a humidifier when inside the house instead of using the indoor heating system. The humidifier will add moisture back into your hair, while the indoor heating systems will dry your hair out.
Since you normally see family and friends during the winter holidays you want to look your best. Nobody wants to walk around with dry hair that has no life. Check out these 3 home remedies you can use for winter-damaged hair this December.

Avocado Take one ripe avocado and mash it into a smooth paste. Rub the mashed avocado directly to your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes before you rinse it out. Avocados have a lot of beneficial nutrients, proteins, and other ingredients you can utilize to replenish dry and damaged hair caused by winter.

This natural conditioner will also add strength, shine, texture, and elasticity to your hair thanks to the vitamins found in the avocado. You can also add some coconut milk to the mashed avocado to make this home remedy even better. After the 30 minutes have passed you can then rinse out the avocado with warm water.

Egg Believe it or not, but you can strengthen, moisturize, and add shine to your hair using egg yolk. It is the vitamins found in egg yolks that make it great for maintaining the luster, texture, and health of your hair. The sulfur properties in egg yolks also make it great for treating dandruff and keeping your scalp healthy.

To make the egg yolk conditioner you'll need an egg, a tablespoon of olive oil, and one cup of warm water. Crack open the egg and separate the egg yolk from the egg whites. Beat the egg yolk thoroughly and then add the tablespoon of olive oil.

Now add the warm water slowly as you beat the mixture until it begins foaming. Now spread this homemade egg yolk conditioner evenly through your hair. Use a comb to distribute the conditioner through your hair properly, and leave it in for at least 15 minutes before rinsing off. The egg yolk will moisturize your hair and make it more manageable when styling.

Hot Olive Oil Conditioner The fatty acids found in olive oil allows it to nourish your hair and protect it from the harsh winter weather. Some people actually add the olive oil to their hair each week to maintain healthy and shiny hair. To prepare a hot oil conditioner you'll need at least half a cup of extra virgin olive oil. Warm up the oil in the microwave until it is warm but not too hot when it touches your skin.

At this point you can add other essential oils to the mix that are known to help dry hair like lavender, rose, rosemary, coconut, or jojoba oil. Add a small amount of the oil to the palm of your hand and begin rubbing the oil into your hair until it is completely covered.

Make sure you massage the oil into your scalp and then wrap your head with a shower cap or plastic wrap. Allow the oil to sit in your head for 15 minutes to an hour before you rinse it out and then shampoo. Use this home remedy whenever you feel your hair is becoming dry or brittle.

These 3 home remedies will definitely help you keep the natural shine and beauty of your hair.

  1. In order to retain moisture in your hair during the day, it is good to use a humidifier to emit humidity in the air inside of your home or office. This will not only combat dry and brittle hair, but can help prevent or minimize dandruff.

Once a week use a deep conditioning treatment at home to help repair any damage done to your hair. Don't use hot oil treatments because they can strip your hair and damage it more but do use a cream based deep conditioner and let it sit in your hair for a good twenty minutes before you rinse it out once a week during the winter

Pore shrinking mask recipes from home

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily skins to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.  Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.  Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size. It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results.  Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever makeup and a few natural skin care masks such as these: * Cleanse your face with a mild ...
