Face Shapes according to Ayurveda

Ayurveda describes the 3 kinds of beauties:

Ayurveda beauty

The vata woman has a thin, charming, vivacious, vibrant face with lively eyes that express spontaneity, sensitivity and easily light up with exhilaration. She is normally underweight and finds it difficult to gain weight.

The pitta woman has a medium sized, sharp-featured face that reflects confidence, strength, a fire that promises volatile anger or extreme lovingness. The dark, smoldering eyes express intelligence and enterprise – a willingness to act. She has a medium build and loses weight evenly and moderately.

The kapha woman has a round, plump face with gentle contours that reflect an unjudging, forgiving nature. The large soft eyes express a serene, accepting sweet nature. She is on the heavy side and has difficulty in losing weight.

Whatever the shape and size of your face, cherish yourself. Cultivate healthy habits. The most beautiful face is the one that radiates happiness.

By knowing one’s own prakruti (true nature), one can plan and practice an appropriate daily and seasonal dietetic and behavioral regime. With this simple effort, the body will maintain balance of the doshas (vata, pitta and kapha). From an Ayurvedic perspective, this balance is considered the “healthy” state of humans.

pitta people have a good power of comprehension; they are very intelligent and sharp and tend to be good orators. They have emotional tendencies toward hate, anger and jealousy. They are ambitious people who generally like to be leaders. Pitta people appreciate material prosperity and they tend to be moderately well-off financially. They enjoy exhibiting their wealth and luxurious possessions.
