When to Splurge on Beauty Products and When to Save

With the plethora of steals and deals out there for different makeup products, it can be hard to determine when it’s OK to save money and when you’re better off splurging. Some people swear by buying only the most expensive beauty products, while others are notorious coupon clippers and clearance shoppers. While you don’t have to spend a fortune on all of your beauty products, there are certain times when you should splurge and other times when saving is the better choice. Here are four times when you should splurge and four times when you should save:

beauty products

Splurge
Makeup brushes – You use your makeup brushes every single day, and a nice set of brushes will go a long way, both in shelf life and in how they apply the makeup. You don’t have to buy the most expensive set out there, but you should find a moderately priced, highly recommended set instead of buying the cheap set at the drug store.

Powder/foundation– The more expensive powders and foundations get their higher price tag because they’re formulated in such a way that they keep your skin looking naturally flawless. Cheap powders and foundations have a tendency to not blend into your skin as well, giving you a caked-on look.

splurge

Eye shadow – Good, high quality eye shadows are worth the more expensive price tag. The reason for the higher price? The ingredients in the pricier versions help your eye shadows stay on much longer than the cheap ones will.

Blushes/bronzers – Like with eye shadows, the ingredients in the more expensive blushes and bronzers make their higher price tag justifiable. The long-lasting wear that you’ll get out of the pricier option makes this a worthy splurge.

Save
Mascara–Department store and drug store mascaras are largely the same, so save your money on this beauty purchase. In addition, because mascaras tend to have a very short shelf life, it’s better to buy the cheaper brand in place of the more expensive one.

Moisturizer– Despite what their pricier counterparts want you to believe, there’s been no evidence that expensive moisturizers do a better job at protecting your skin than the cheaper ones you can pick up at the drug store. Don’t waste your money on this one.
Save money on beauty products

Eyeliner – There’s no discernible difference between the expensive eyeliners and the less expensive ones, so eyeliners are another place that you can save money without sacrificing quality.

Lipstick – In style lipstick shades change so frequently that it’s not worth spending the big bucks on them. Instead pick up a variety of lipsticks and glosses at your local drug store for a fraction of the price of department stores.

While fancy advertisements may make you think that you need the highest priced option of different products, there are some products that offer the same level of quality for a much cheaper price. Your beauty bag should be full of a mix of splurge-worthy beauty items and less expensive ones.

Pore shrinking mask recipes from home

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily skins to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.  Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.  Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size. It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results.  Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever makeup and a few natural skin care masks such as these: * Cleanse your face with a mild ...
