Natural Ways to Tighten Saggy Skin After Weight Loss

There is nothing more empowering than setting a goal and reaching it. This is especially the case when your aim was to lose and certain amount of weight during a certain amount of time and you succeeded in doing just that. And while there tends to be very few "cons" to achieving this kind of result, there happens to be one in particular that very few people like to talk about, but a majority of weight losers have experienced: saggy skin.
This is what happens when either we gained more weight than the elasticity in our skin was able to handle or we lose weight at a faster pace than our skin is able to adjust to. And yes, while you could go the surgical route to address this matter, did you know that there are proven natural ways that can tighten up your saggy skin after losing weight as well?

Here are five things that you can do from the comfort of your own home that doesn't require the high price (and recoup time) that comes with going under the knife.

Exercise. One of the absolute best things that you can do for your skin as you are losing weight is to continue exercising; especially doing weight lifting and cardio. They aid in toning and also plumping the muscle in the areas where the fat used to be, while giving your skin a better fit to your "new you".

Moisturize. Skin needs elasticity and one of the things that help to maintain this is moisture. Therefore, it's a good idea to moisturize your body after getting out of the shower in the morning and at night before turning in. Lotions are fine, but natural oils such as coconut, jojoba and olive are loaded with vitamins and antioxidants to give you an extra special glow.

Drink water. Speaking of the body needing moisture, this would most definitely include applying a daily water regimen (at least 8 hours per day). It also helps to keep moisture within the skin, while flushing out the toxins within your bloodstream at the same time.

Exfoliate. A lot of us may exfoliate our skin from time to time without putting much thought into what it actually does for our body. Remember that exfoliating is a good thing to do because it rids the surface of our skin of dead cells. However, what it helps to do internally is condition our skin cells so that they can actively adjust to our body's transitions, including any weight loss that occurs.

Eat right. If you speak to any personal trainer or attend a place that specializes in weight loss (like an office for medical weight loss in Austin, Charlotte or Sacramento), they will tell you that your diet plays a huge role in improving your skin's elasticity and overall appearance. Foods that help a person to achieve healthy skin include beans, berries, fish, carrots and nuts. You should also make sure to limit the amount of sweets and carbs that you consume while trying to nurture the condition of your skin. You may not see the results overnight, but Mother Nature tends to be pretty reliable. In most cases, over time, you will notice that your skin and body are becoming a perfect fit. Sans the surgery.

Home remedies for sleeplessness

The day dawns beautifully for those who have had a night of good sleep. But the same day drags on for those who have spent a disturbing, sleepless night. Sleep is a biological necessity even as eating and drinking are. Sufficient sleep renders a person normally sociable, lively and high-spirited. It’s a nature’s way of rejuvenating the person for the next day. Realize all this, and make sleep a physiological habit. The consequences of long time sleep deprivation can be very grave. Lack of sleep takes its toll on the skin and hair. It causes acne-breakouts and makes one look aged and haggard beyond years. Experts opine that during sleep as our metabolic rate falls, blood goes to those areas which need the most repairing. This also steps up the production of collagen and keratin, which aid the regeneration of skin cells and help resist premature ageing. So for a younger looking and a problem free skin you need to have a good quality of sleep every night.
