Is There Really Such a Thing As Beauty Sleep?

Literally all of us have heard someone end a conversation by saying, "I've got to go. I really need to get my beauty sleep (or rest)." And while we may initially chalk it up to merely being a cute thing to say, did you know that there is actually a lot of validity to how beauty and sleep work hand-in-hand when it comes to helping you to look your absolute best?

So, when it comes to the question of if there is really such a thing as beauty sleep, the bottom line answer is "Definitely." But if you'd like a few reasons why that is the case, check out these five below.

It helps to make your complexion glow. As you're in a sleep-filled state, your body is able to produce (at a more rapid pace) the hormones that boost collagen production within the body. Studies report that it also helps you to lose somewhere around 25 percent more water weight than when you are awake; so if your face appears a bit bloated, a good night's sleep may remedy all of that.

It improves the condition of your hair. We all have had moments when we've been stressed out and it's mostly due to the fact that we didn't get enough sleep the night before. However, did you know that making this a habit can actual affect the quality and condition of your hair? When your hormones are imbalanced, it can inhibit your body from repairing the hair follicles in the scalp that are damaged and that keeps you from achieving the long and flowing locks that you seek.

It makes you more proactive about your appearance. It's true. When you don't get enough sleep the night before and you find yourself rushing the next morning, you tend to put less effort into your appearance. When you're well-rested, the reflection that you see in your bathroom mirror tends to be perkier and more alive, which makes you more proactive about how you look.

It helps to keep health problems at bay. How we look and how we feel are directly connected to one another. That said, did you know that there is scientific evidence to support the fact that poor sleeping habits are related to skin disorders like eczema, psoriasis, depression, weight gain and even Alzheimer's disease? What is considered to be "too little sleep" is a night that consists of five hours or less. Just for your health's sake alone, sleep should be a top priority.

It gives your body time to rejuvenate itself. One of the main reasons why sleep is so important is that it gives your mind and body the ample time that it needs to repair a lot of the "wear and tear" that we cause it on a daily basis. That's why it's so important to get a bed that provides good support. So, if you have a big and beautiful bed, complete with one of those high-end upholstered headboards, Egyptian cotton sheets and memory foam pillows, don't use it just for presentation's sake. Tonight, make sure to enjoy it as a beauty remedy; one that will keep you naturally beautiful for years to come!

High quality bedding is essential. Silk duvets and pillows are particularly good for getting a good night's sleep.

Pore shrinking mask recipes from home

A face with large open pores when seen from close quarters doesn’t look so good. While it’s quite common for oily skins to have a tendency towards open pores, an attack of pimples also leaves ugly scars and open pores behind.  Even though the scars may fade away after some time, open pores appear to be more obstinate and hardly show any signs of shrinking.  Age also takes its toll by giving an uneven/pigmented tone to the skin and making the open pores more prominent. Heredity could also be a contributing factor in determining your pore size. It’s not easy to get rid of these pores or shrink them completely or permanently using serums, lotions or face packs. Even resorting to drastic chemical/surgical procedures at the dermatologist’s isn’t quite capable of giving satisfactory results.  Nevertheless, you can try and minimize their appearance at least temporarily with clever makeup and a few natural skin care masks such as these: * Cleanse your face with a mild ...
