How to Get Your Teeth Straight Without Braces

Overall, you like your smile. But in a perfect world, there are a few things about it that you would like to correct; things that could easily be fixed with braces, but you don't want to go through the hassle of having traditional ones. So, you've been wondering what other options are available to get your teeth perfectly straight.

The good news is that there actually are a few; ones that take less time, are less painful and in some cases, even cost less money. If you keep reading, you are sure to find a "tooth solution" that is just right for you.

braces
Veneers. For people who would prefer to bypass any kind of long-term process that comes with having traditional braces, porcelain veneers are always an option. They are basically extremely thin overlays that go over your natural tooth (or teeth) in order to change the appearance of a tooth from the positioning to the color of the enamel. Another option along this same vein is porcelain crowns. They are implants that are used to fix severally damaged teeth that must ultimately be extracted.

Composite resin bonding. If you have minor flaws with your teeth, this is an option that can correct them in just one visit. Composite resin bonding is basically using a special material to mold a new shape for your tooth while maintaining the appearance of its natural color.

Cosmetic contouring. Another option that is gaining more popularity and is similar to composite resin bonding is cosmetic contouring. This consists of using a laser or sanding drill to literally reshape your teeth. This happens by carefully removing the enamel of the teeth that need correcting and then smoothing and polishing them once the desired appearance has been achieved. It is painless and requires no anesthesia.

Invisalign. One very popular method for getting straight teeth is something known as Invisalign. Rather than using metal braces, three-dimensional, clear plastic trays are custom-designed for both the top and bottom of your teeth. Gradually, they assist in aligning your bite and can easily fix most issues including overbites, gaps and crowded teeth. Aside from the benefit of being invisible, you can also remove them to eat and brush your teeth. However, do keep in mind that you are to wear Invisalign about 22 hours each day in order to achieve maximum results. There are doctors all over the world that offer this product, including Invisalign Norwest.

Inman Aligner. Something that takes a record amount of time to correct the front teeth (only) is something called the Inman Aligner. It looks pretty much like a retainer that uses coin springs to push the teeth back into position. A lot of people rave about this option because it has proven to straighten teeth in as little as six weeks if you wear it 16-20 hours per day.

Although, as you can see, there are a myriad of ways to get the smile that you desire, it is always best to set up an initial meeting to consult with your dentist about which one will work best for you long-term. After all, you don't just want a smile that is pretty to look at. You want one that is going to be a wise decision for you, your budget and your mouth for years to come.

  2. Good info! I would like to add that some of these may not work for certain problems with the teeth and sometimes, traditional metal braces may still be the best option.

Home remedies for sleeplessness

The day dawns beautifully for those who have had a night of good sleep. But the same day drags on for those who have spent a disturbing, sleepless night. Sleep is a biological necessity even as eating and drinking are. Sufficient sleep renders a person normally sociable, lively and high-spirited. It’s a nature’s way of rejuvenating the person for the next day. Realize all this, and make sleep a physiological habit. The consequences of long time sleep deprivation can be very grave. Lack of sleep takes its toll on the skin and hair. It causes acne-breakouts and makes one look aged and haggard beyond years. Experts opine that during sleep as our metabolic rate falls, blood goes to those areas which need the most repairing. This also steps up the production of collagen and keratin, which aid the regeneration of skin cells and help resist premature ageing. So for a younger looking and a problem free skin you need to have a good quality of sleep every night.

Get rid of head lice with these home remedies

Lice infestation is such a bothersome, distracting and embarrassing problem. Surely everyone harbors them at one time or the other. It is usually common among school children but soon spreads to other members of the family. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a sign of poor hygiene, as lice are not fussy whether they lay their eggs in clean or dirty hair. But yes, a dirty scalp can well serve as a perfect breeding ground for these tiresome creatures. Lice get transferred easily from child to child owing to the close contact of heads, during play, while sitting together or by sharing caps. Though there are many chemical and herbal over-the-counter preparations to remove lice, it is better to refrain from using them for they might also remove a good bit of your hair, while others could have a drying effect on the hair.  There are many home-remedies which do work well but the age-old method of regular combing with a close-toothed comb on all counts, is the most eff...
