Cause: Wet clothes and shoes that act as a breeding ground for microbes.
Solution: Use an anti-bacterial soap (Dettol) for bathing. Dry yourself thoroughly after a bath and dust anti-fungal powder, such as this on your feet, underarms and in your body's folds (except for the groin area). Always wash your feet with soap and water after exposure to rain water.

Use the right products
Dr Snehal Sriram, Kaya Skin clinic lists the right skin-care products for your skin during monsoons.

  • Use a soap-free cleanser such as this at least 2-3 times a day to get rid of sweat and grime.
  • Choose a gently face scrub with small, uniform granules that will remove dead cells, open up clogged pores and allow the skin to breathe.
Alcohol Free Toner
  • After cleansing, use an alcohol-free toner, such as this to prevent infections and eruptions.
  • A few drops of  Lavender Oil added to a teaspoon of water works as a natural toner for oily skin.
Sunscreenwoman using sunscreen
  • Harmful UV rays can penetrate clouds, so don't step out of the house without sunscreen, even on an overcast day.
  • Apply sunscreen with SPF 20+ at least 20 minutes before you step out.
Moisturizer
  • Use water-based moisturizer to re-hydrate your skin twice a day.pamper feet

Acetic acid i,e, vinegar could be applied sucessfully to remove fungus from walls. Mix 5-10gram per lit vinegar in a bucket of water, stir to mix and then either spray or rub the wall with a piece of cotton with the prepared chemicals allow to stay for 10-15mins then clean it.This is non hazardous and quick method to remove fungus.

  10. For those who develop dry skin during this, a mixture of rosewater and glycerin applied on your face before bed time works wonders. A mild cleanser can be used to get rid of dead cells and grime for those with oily skin. Oatmeal and papaya are known to act as mild exfoliants.

BABY your skin. Don't pick at pimples. Avoid touching your face unnecessarily - the oil on your fingertips belongs on your fingertips, not on your face. Moisturize and use sunscreen with at least a 15SPF every day all year long.

  18. Maintaining healthy lips in monsoon may become a little tricky even if waterproof or non-transferable types of lipsticks are used. Use a bit of jasmine or lavender oil on the lips before applying lipstick. This will act as a natural layer of lip balm. It also acts as a foundation for the lipstick and avoids potential damage to lips.
