With the summer fast approaching, it is important to have a beauty regimen for the hottest season of the year! Who says you need to go to the salon or spend thousands of dollars on beauty products that may or may not work? Don't take that chance! Instead, everything you need to be summer ready can be found right there in your kitchen. These three do-it-yourself (DIY) homemade beauty aids are sure to get you in tip-top shape from head to toe for summer!





Dull to Dazzle in 20 Minutes: Hair Conditioning Treatment Those long, cold winter months have stripped away plenty of hair moisture and dulled the shine of your hair. Coupled with styling products and air pollution, this creates a sure-proof recipe for dull hair. Not to worry though! Dairy products like sour cream and Greek yogurt will give your hair the life it’s meant to have. The lactic acid in these products gently removes away the dirt in the hair while the milk fat provides great moisture.

All you need is ½ cup of sour cream or plain Greek yogurt to massage into your damp hair for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water followed by cool water. Next, shampoo hair as you normally would to bring your hair back to life.

Mix and Moisturize – Hydrating Face Mask
Dull hair isn’t the only result of cold weather. Dull, dry skin can also rear its ugly head and no one wants to deal with that! This hydrating mask is easy to prepare and uses some pretty yummy ingredients too!
Take half of a ripe avocado and mash it up with a fork; add ½ cup of plain Greek yogurt (incorporating ingredient from the hair treatment) and ¼ cup of honey. Mix well. Dab this luscious concoction onto your freshly cleansed face with a small brush, a face sponge, or your fingertips. Let it set for 15-20 minutes.

Gently remove the mask with damp, warm washcloth and rinse your face with warm water. Pat your face dry and notice the instant difference in your skin! Don’t forget to follow this mask with a rich facial moisturizer for best results. Do this treatment once a week to maintain a healthy, hydrating face!

Soft Kissable Lips – Lip Exfoliation Scrub No one likes dry cracked lips. The cold weather tends to leave your pucker looking pale and dead. Brighten up your lips with this quick beauty aid that is sure to leave your lips ready for an all-night long kissing session with someone special. Take 2 tablespoons of white sugar and add it into a small bowl.

Adding 1 teaspoon at a time, create a paste that has a nice, thick consistency. Apply this lip scrub with your fingertips and leave on for 1 minute. Gently rub the scrub back and forth on your lips, removing all dead skin from the area. Take a wet washcloth and remove the scrub from your lips and rinse thoroughly. Apply your favorite lip balm or moisturizer once finished and pucker up!

Silky Smooth Sexy Legs - Leg Exfoliation Scrub This is, by far, one of the best DIY homemade beauty aids out there. Everyone likes soft, touchable legs and they love them even better when they can be achieved without leaving the comfort of their homes and keeping money in their pockets! This leg exfoliant will leave probably keep you and your significant other up at night because you’ll be too busy rubbing your legs together to fall asleep!

Mix the following ingredients together in a bowl: 1¼ cup of white sugar, ½ cup of oil (olive, coconut, canola), and 3 tablespoons lime or lemon juice. Wrap your legs in a warm towel for 5 minutes and then shave your legs. After shaving, rub the mixture all over your legs for a nice mini massage for about 2-3 minutes. Rinse legs well with warm water and shave again. Repeat the mini massage with the scrub and rinse off mixture. Use a mild soap to remove any excessive oil remaining from the mixture. Finally, grab your favorite lotion and apply it onto your legs. This scrub will leave your legs feeling extra silky smooth that you’ll want everyone to touch your legs so they can feel how awesome they are! Use one razor per leg for this treatment to minimize repeatedly having to rinse off your razor, as you will notice a lot of dead skin being removed after the first application.

    Make a homemade scrub with masoor dal. Use this scrub once in two days to get rid of these pimples and acne. This will also absorb excess oil from your facial skin and work as a natural exfoliator on your facial skin surface.

  5. Heat rashes are inflammation of certain areas of the skin caused due to exposure to sun and humidity. If you encounter heat rashes on your skin especially in summer months, wash the affected areas with cold water several times a day. Also, apply rose water with a cotton wool ball on the affected areas.
