Hing (Asafoetida) for pimples

Beauty Tips - Logo

Common household ingredients such as Multani Mitti, Jaiphal (nutmeg), sandalwood (chandan), red sandalwood (Rakta chandan), Turmeric (Haldi), Honey along with the wonder herbs such as Aloe  & Tulsi are great for acne-prone skin. Equipped with therapeutic & soothing properties, these heal pimples and also do away with  accompanying blemishes and scars, pretty quickly. Now everyone has heard about the humble condiment Hing (Asafoetida) and its innumerable medicinal uses and how it's used in several home-remedies to provide relief from all sorts of ailments. Particularly it's use as a digestive aid is well-known. But what most folks don't know is that it also helps with pimples. Now, I was quite skeptical of this one, but when I heard an Ayurvedic practitioner recommending it, I decided that I should try this home-remedy.

Hing

I do get occasional pimples around that time of the month. So, as per the doctor's instruction, I rubbed a small piece of Hing on a small round stone with a little lukewarm water and applied  the paste on the pimples. The very next day the pimple had healed and in the next few days it disappeared without a trace. Usually my pimples do leave quite a few blemishes and marks. Apparently the usage of Hing makes the pimples vanish without leaving a blemish or a stain. Honestly, I don't know whether it would work as well on a full-pledged acne-breakout but if you do get a few pimples every now and then, this works great!

Zinc is an antibacterial agent and a necessary element in the oil-producing glands of the skin. A diet low in zinc can actually cause acne breakouts.
