Hair Care Tips for Dry & Brittle Tresses

dry hairDo you often find yourself pining over that gorgeous Herbal Essences model whose golden locks shine and flow like the gods? Have you tried everything in the books to tame your frizzy mane? If your hair falls under the categories of “dry” and “brittle,” bad hair days may be more common than good ones. What can be done to turn every bad case of frizz into tumbling tresses forevermore? It may be easier then you thought. A simple change in your hair care methods may be all you need to make your hair and you happier.

On closer examination, your hair, when at its best, appears smooth and soft. A microscope can easily reveal that chemically damaged, or dry hair looks cracked and tangled. The damaged strands of hair refuse to lie flat and become out of control. The key to taming your hair is conditioning. Conditioners, which re-hydrate your hair, are essential to rejuvenating your hair’s cuticle, or outer layer. This not only allows for the strands of hair to relax and lay down, but also puts moisture back into your dry hair.
It can be difficult to spot the kind of conditioner you need when shopping in the beauty aisle. Be sure to stay focused and to keep an eye out for brands that specify products for “dry hair,” or “frizz control.” These conditioners tend to give you more vitamins that other conditioners lack and run heavier in consistency. These specific conditioners are made to weigh down your frizzy hair and can act as a smoothing device on your damaged cuticle.

Often, rinse-out conditioners can be an inexpensive alternative to the pricey salon conditioners available in stores. Remember to comb through your hair with a wide-toothed comb, running the rinse-out conditioner from root to tip. This allows the product to reach every inch of your hair, ensuring impressive results. For hair that is chemically damaged, a deep conditioner may be the best way to go. These particular conditioners, which often have a thick, creamy texture can be left on your hair for any desired length of time. Generally, the longer you leave the product on, the better the results.

Another way to go is to try out silicone hair products. There are several leading brands that can be found at any drugstore, or salon. The product works best after being applied to recently shampooed hair. It is crucial that the hair is still wet and then air, or blow-dried to achieve the best results. The silicone works by smoothing down your hair cuticle.

A great alternative to silicone hair products is gel. Try your best to avoid any products that may contain a high alcohol concentration. This can often be the main contributing factor to causing dry hair. Once again, look for products that specify for “dry” hair and do not contain any alcohol.

Sadly, sometimes the only way to get your hair going in the right direction is to cut off the damaged portion. The dry and brittle sections of hair will soon be replaced with the good, healthy stuff you want. Consult a stylist before attempting this approach. It would help to get a professionals opinion regarding the best action to take for the sake of your hair. They will have helpful suggestions for you about how to maintain your new, healthy hair.

Just with a few simple routine changes and with trial and error, your hair will be on its way to looking shiny and beautiful. Say good-bye to bad hair days by trying out a few of these simple suggestions.

  1. Olive oil is very useful for dry, damaged hair. Massage a few tablespoons of olive oil into your scalp and cover with a plastic bathing cap. Let the oil set for 30 minutes or more, and then shampoo. This treatment will help repair split ends, heal dandruff, and will make your hair incredibly shiny

Smoothness will happen automatically once hair is healthy and fed rightly from the roots. You need to go for comprehensive hair-health, which will make it smoot, shiny, good-textured and strong from the roots. Superficial commercial products won't work. You must seek professional products that work honestly.

Coconut oil is an excellent choice. If your hair is extremely curly/coarse you can use it as a leave-in conditioner. If it is straight you can leave coconut oil on your hair overnight and wash it out in the morning.
Buy the kind that is extra virgin and unrefined. I'm sure you will be happy with the results!

  14. you can always make hair look cute no matter how bad the haircut is.

1)you can braid back your bangs. maybe even go on youtube and watch a tutorial on french braiding. its easy!

    2) you can do a french twist (also easy) with your bangs

    3) wear any type of cute headband to match your outfit. you wot even be able to tell you dont like how they look.

    4) you can always leave your bangs down (no matter how messed up they look) and take the top layer of hair and poof it up with hairspray. thats a partyish stylee.

    5) you can do a side ponytail braid with a headband in. (my favorite)

    6) just a plain and simple ponytail or messy bun with braided back bangs
