Whiten your teeth by eating apples

teeth whiteningA smile enhances your face value and more so if it is backed by healthy sparkling teeth. But you just can’t do without those steaming cups of tea/coffee. They are that indispensable to you – you highly need them to stimulate you, to get you going and to brighten up your day. One of the consequences of this indulgence: over a period of time you will develop stains on your teeth, which will dull your smile.

Easiest way to fight this stain – try this good old but a highly effective home remedy. woman eating appleBite into a juicy apple after lunch. Your teeth will look noticeably whiter! The mildly acidic and astringent quality of apples cleanses and brightens your teeth. Chewing foods like apples, celery, sugarcane and carrots, actually help scrub away stubborn stains over time. It is almost like brushing your teeth with a nature’s toothpaste; a toothpaste which not only acts as a teeth whitener from the outside but also promises good dental health from the inside. Being a tea/coffee drinker, if you weren’t consuming these foods earlier, do so now. You will begin to notice the cleansing effect of these foods on your teeth right away.

However do not forget to rinse your mouth with water after eating apples. If you don’t get a chance to do so then at least drink some water to rid your teeth of the sugar or acid that it may have deposited. Alternatively, try a stick of sugarless gum. This chewing action stimulates flow of saliva. Saliva neutralizes acids produced by plaque bacteria and helps clear the mouth of food that plaque bacteria usually feast on. So chew gum and smile on.

A new study has found that eating an apple a day - or drinking its juice - is a sound way of maintaining a slimmer waistline and insuring oneself against high BP and cardiac disease.

Apple eaters had a 21 per cent reduced risk of increased waist circumference, predictor of cardiovascular disease and increased likelihood of metabolic syndrome.

Additionally, they had significantly reduced C-reactive protein levels, another measurable marker related to cardiovascular risk.

Eat as many apples and lemons as you can - this is not the best choice you have: firstly, this will damage your stomach and then to your teeth. Too much acid eventually destroy your teeth enamel. Think to something else, buy an over the counter product, you'll see some moderate effects but at least wouldn't harm to yourself.

Apples are a mildly acidic fruit. Because of their slightly astringent quality, they are an ideal food for cleansing and brightening teeth. The acidic nature of an apple is not enough to make a person's teeth pearly white. The acid needs the help of the fiber-rich flesh of the apple

After eating an apple, it's still important to brush your teeth. The apples still have sugar and acid in them which can damage the teeth. Leaving the sugar and acid on the teeth will reverse the benefits that eating an apple gave the teeth.

Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.
