Complaining habit and choosing the right company

Do check out these two articles on personal growth and development.

Complaining and whining over trifles is an exasperating habit. Moaners and grumblers are always frowned upon by people. However, this write-up from Phil for Humanity will make you to ‘see’ the ‘complaining habit’ in a new light.

If you are not in the habit of complaining, give it a try. See how much stress is removed from your shoulders. I recommend that you try complaining to yourself, your best friend, or your spouse. First, try just complaining about traffic or the weather, but try staying in a positive attitude. Instead of saying “the weather is awful”, try saying “I hope the weather improves.” You will quickly find that just talking about it makes it less depressing.

Skin care in the 50’s

Though you can no longer rely on nature to keep your skin crease free and soft, all the care and pampering, that you had splurged in, during your earlier years will make you feel that beauty grows with age. You face will have a matured, contented and serene look.

However menopause, falling oestrogen levels, slowing down of body’s metabolism takes its toll on the skin – there is a loss of tone on the skin and it begins to sag, which leads to further loss of color on the face and lips. So this is the time when a pro-active skin-care routine can make a big difference to a woman.

There are no quick fixes at this stage of your life as at this age beauty comes from taking care of yourself, eating healthy food, drinking lots of water, and regular exercise. Now using the best skin-care products and a good moisturizer to maintain the moisture of your skin is most important. The failure to moisturize skin properly during menopause makes the skin even drier. A sunscreen based moisturizer during the day and an AHA cream based moisturizer for the evenings are recommended.

Continue with the regular skin care regimen of your 30s and 40s in your 50s also. But you need to pay more attention to the neck, as the wrinkles on the neck will show your age easily. While massaging your face, take care to massage your neck also. Moisturize your neck properly. Also go through the posts, Skin care at night, Skin care during daytime and Home Facials.

A regular care of the hair is also most important. Continue with the hair care routine of your 40s. If you wish to cover your gray, use dyes or hair-colors of reputed companies. Be regular to your hair-color routine, otherwise, silvery strands peeping out of your mane will be a cause of embarrassment for you.

Nutritious food and regular hair-care is the key to a “beautiful you” at 50.

Nourishing and Moisturizing Mask

The main purpose of these masks is to moisturize and nourish the skin. Almost the direct opposite of cleansing masks, these masks never dry completely on the skin. They are rich, soft and creamy and are meant to saturate your skin with moisture. These masks can safely be used twice a week and are particularly useful for mature, dry to wrinkled skin. They give a refreshing and luxurious feeling.

Oatmeal makes a good moisturizing pack. Oatmeal is very close to the earth because it is made from one of our basic food ingredients-oats. Besides being a staple food, oatmeal has marvelous properties as a facial beauty treatment. It is rich in vitamin E, reputed to be an anti-ageing factor. An oatmeal mask supplies more vitamin E than any other facial cream, so is worth trying.

Brewer’s yeast is another excellent moisturizing and nourishing mask. This is particularly good for dry, ageing or wrinkled skin. It stimulates and rejuvenates the skin. To make an invigorating mask, mix with warm water to make a smooth paste. Pat it on firmly with finger tips. Relax for fifteen minutes and rinse off with warm water.

Brewer’s yeast nourishes and stimulates the pores. It also helps to protect you from inflammation such as eczema and dermatitis. It gives you the same feeling as a brisk walk in the fresh air, glowing cheeks and a lovely skin tone.

Lipstick for your lips

People notice your lips when you talk, as they listen to your words. You can improve the natural shape and color of your lips with lipstick, lip gloss, and lip pencil. Lipstick adds so much cheer to the face. It has to be used most carefully and neatly to get the best results. You cannot afford to use it in a casual manner. The outline should be neat and well-defined.

Do not give anyone the impression that you have dressed in a hurry, or that you do not know how to apply a lipstick. Do not apply it just for the sake of applying as a mere formality. Always work with patience when applying it on. You need a very good brush, and a few lipsticks covering the basic colors, like soft reds, pinks, hues of orange, etc.

General rules

* For thin lips, use lighter shades.

* For full lips, use darker shades.

* For the day, use lighter shades.

* For the night, use darker shades.

* For complexions which are not fair, avoid using very light shades completely.

Exercising teeth the natural way

The teeth and the gums, like other parts of the body, require exercise for maintaining them in healthy condition. This can be achieved by eating hard and fibrous foods.

* Wheat is especially valuable in the prevention and treatment of pyorrhea. It takes time to chew wheat chappatis. This compels one to chew hard, not only providing the much-needed exercise for the teeth and gums but also helps the digestion process.

* Chewing unripe guava is an excellent tonic for teeth and gums. It stops the bleeding from gums due to styptic effect and richness in vitamin C. Chewing the leaves of the guava tree also helps prevent bleeding from the gums. A decoction of root bark can also be used as a mouth wash for swollen gums.

* Tooth-decay can be prevented by regular consumption of apples, as they possess a mouth cleansing property and the acid content, apart form its nutritive value assists in promoting the flow of saliva which is beneficial to the teeth.

* Grapes are also useful in promoting tooth decay. The organic acids of grapes are strongly antiseptic.

* Lemon and lime also promote healthy teeth and gums, due to their vitamin C content. They strengthen the gums and teeth and are very effective in preventing and curing acute inflammation of gums. A glass of fresh citrus juice in the morning is of great value in keeping the gums pink and healthy.

* Raw spinach (palak) juice is another valuable ‘food remedy’ for the prevention and treatment of pyorrhea, because of its beneficial effects on the teeth and gums. This effect is greatly enhanced if the spinach juice is taken in combination with carrot juice.
