Natural Hair Oils You Should Try

With all of the beauty products thrown at us these days it’s easy to forget that there are a lot of natural hair oils available to us that are healthy and work wonders. Hair oils have been around for centuries and are used by many of the old civilizations to this day. Here are some of the more popular ones that you can look into.
Coconut Oil

The oils found in coconuts are packed with vitamins and minerals that make your hair stronger so that it’s less likely to break. It’s actually thought by many to be the best natural oil for hair out there because it penetrates the scalp and works from the inside out to make the hair not only stronger but more flexible. If you’re wondering why flexibility is important for your mane, the answer is simply that the more flexible your hair, the less likely it is to break.  Coconut oil is used in a lot of conditioners because it works as a deep conditioner for the scalp so that you get moisturized smooth and shiny strands that look and feel nourished.
Emu Oil

This oil is a favorite of many people who have thick course hair because it gives such phenomenal results. The heavy dose of Omega 3 found in every dose of emu oil not only makes your hair softer and more manageable, it also helps to promote hair growth while fighting hair loss. In addition to this it helps to keep split ends from forming so that each and every one of your strands will look healthy and shiny. Emu oil is the one and only oil on this list which is taken from an animal- the emu bird.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil really works to moisturize your scalp, detangle your hair, reduce frizz and improve the texture of your hair. It’s proven not only to soften your hair but to help make your hair appear to be thicker. One of the reasons that jojoba oil is so wonderful for your hair is that it acts like and helps to control the production of the sebum that your body makes naturally. That being said, it’s also good for people who have oily hair because while some other oils make oily hair appear to be in even worse condition this one makes it appear to be in a much better condition. The final icing on the cake is that it helps to prevent dandruff so you can wear all the dark colors you like.

Rosemary Oil
Rosemary Oil
We use rosemary when we cook but why stop there? Research shows that using rosemary oil in your hair is a great way to fight dandruff and to promote hair growth. Another reason to use it is because it helps to fight off greys if used over a long period of time which is much better for you than using chemicals to color your hair. Finally, it helps to strengthen your locks so that they break less frequently and so that you lose fewer strands so that you always have a beautiful set of hair.

All of these oils can be found in their true forms as well as in shampoos and conditioners. If you’re planning on applying the actual oil to your hair in its natural form use a few drops at a time so that your hair doesn’t become greasy.

The most common oils for hair are jojoba (the closest to what your scalp produces), coconut, and extra virgin olive oil. It really just depends on what your hair likes. Some people's hair doesn't like oil at all. But I find it's a great way to moisturize my hair. Note: a little goes a long ways and I find that it works best on damp hair.

  3. By and far - the best oil for hair is the Kukui Nut oil - from the kukui nut in Hawaii.
    Next best is Coconut oil.
They both make the hair shiny & supple, and give the hair strength and body.
IF you are out in the sun a lot, your hair may become lighter.
