* Natural products like amla and avocado oil are extremely beneficial for the growth of healthy hair.
* Moisture is something that should be stressed upon a lot. To have bouncy, thick and shiny hair even after colouring it, one needs to nourish it with regular use of hair moisturizer. A moisturizer with shea butter is great for hair.
* A well-balanced diet, especially including fish, as fish oil is very good for hair, is also important.woman brushing her tresses
* Hair tends to lose moisture if shampooed everyday. Shampooing hair thrice a week is enough. Attention should also be paid to the hair ends. Those with dry hair ends needn't shampoo hair everyday.
* Hair should be trimmed periodically to keep it healthy.
* And make sure you do not over-color it as colouring often robs hair of its natural shine and texture.
* Ironing hair is a much better option than rebonding which could weaken hair because of the use of chemicals in the rebonding process.

I had my hair to my waist for a long time! Definitely get a trim before you start growing your hair so you start out with nice healthy ends. Then continue to get a trim about every 3 months or so to keep it healthy. I don't know if you dye your hair or anything like that but i know when mine was long it was very hard to brush, so make sure you apply a leave in conditioner(especially if you dye it a lot) after you wash your hair before you comb it...also carefully comb your hair when its wet instead of using a brush because a brush will rip your well that's all i can think that was long. good luck!!

Have a good diet. Try to take multivitamins. cutting 1 cm every 2-3 months once is good. But I can also suggest some very good products. Theres a brand named Klorane which has lots of hair products. Try to use Quinine shampoo and balm. It helps your hair to grow faster.

Eat high-quality protein foods. Eggs are a good source as long as you don't have cholesterol problems.
Eat grains, legumes, nuts and seeds.
Make sure your diet is composed of 50 percent fresh fruits and vegetables.
Add sulfur- and silicon-rich foods to diet. Onions, broccoli, fish and sea vegetables are all good sources.
Eat food rich in biotin, such as brewer's yeast, brown rice and soybeans.
Sprinkle ground flaxseed on your cereal. It provides essential fatty acids.
Eat foods high in B vitamins.

Use hot oil treatments every other week and don't wash your hair everyday then you will be washing away the natural oils in your hair. Speaking of oils use oils like jojoba oil, olive oil, and many others and massage them on your scalp. But be careful and test the oil on a your skin before putting it on your scalp. If it turns red and starts irritating you do not use it.

To smooth your hair, when you rub lotion on your hands, you can rub the residue over your hair to tame the frizz and give it a nice smell.

I use Tresemme shampoo and conditioner. I'm pleased with the results. They have natural products though I've read the ingredients - not sure the ingredients agree with the natural line. This line was recommended to me by my hair stylist.

    Tips for growing out hair?

You get all your vitamins & minerals & proteins FREE from the good foods you eat from Mother Nature, not made by man, and no shampoo can help grow hair, not even those made for horses. Horses don't abuse their hair, using heating tools, and they eat better than people, but it won't add more hair & make their hair longer faster.Shampoo intended for animals may contain insecticides or other medications for treatment of skin conditions or parasite infestations such as fleas or mange. These must never be used on humans.
Prenatal vitamins don't make your hair grow. Pregnant women have to start taking care of their bodies when they're pregnant, meaning stop smoking, drinking, dyeing or perming their hair SO OF COURSE their hair start growing again. But it has nothing to do with their hair, it has something to do to help the development of their unborn child.
Fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains all supply B-complex vitamins, like biotin, folic acid and vitamin B12, as well as vitamin A, copper and zinc, which are all necessary for remedying dry, brittle hair and nourishing a healthy scalp. Some prime examples of foods that contain these nutrients for healthy hair include:
Folic Acid - asparagus, beets, broccoli, avocados, Brussels sprouts, beans, chickpeas, soybeans, lentils, oranges, fresh peas, turkey and spinach.
    · Biotin - cauliflower, liver, salmon, carrots, bananas, cereals, yeast, and soy flour. Keep in mind that biotin content is reduced when food is cooked or preserved.
    · Vitamin B12 - foods rich in vitamin B12 include animal protein (such as beef, lamb, and veal), clams and oysters, liver, fish, milk, and egg yolks.
    • Vitamin A - butter, egg yolks, fish, fortified milk, organ meats (such as liver), and dark green, orange, red, and yellow fruits and vegetables, which all contain beta-carotene.
    • Copper - oysters and other shellfish, whole grains, beans, nuts, potatoes, and organ meats are good sources of copper. Dark leafy greens, dried fruits such as prunes, cocoa, black pepper, and yeast are also sources of copper in the diet.
    • Zinc – beef, eggs, liver, pork, poultry, and oysters. Also is also abundant in other high-protein foods, like cheese, legumes and nuts.
If having a lush, beautiful mane of healthy hair is important to you, don’t just look to hot oil treatments and shine emollients. Eat these foods for healthy hair and say “bye-bye” to bad hair days.
