How To Choose The Right Eye Shadow For Your Eye Color

The most important thing to consider when choosing an eye shadow is the color of your eyes. After all, the reason that you’re wearing the eye shadow in the first place is to accent your eyes and bring attention to them. The easiest and most effective way to go about this is to choose colors based on your eye color. Check out these tips.
* If you have blue eyes, it’s best to wear eye shadows that are in shades of taupes, browns, lilacs and greys. If you want to wear blue eye shadow, be sure to wear a color that is darker than your eye color by a couple of shades. This way the shadow makes your eyes stand out and doesn’t simply blend in with it. If you want to create a smokey eye look, try using black eye shadow to give you that extra depth.

* If you have green or hazel eyes, you should try colors that are found in nature such as forest green, purple and brown. You can add a touch of gold or apricot if you want to use an accent color.  brown_eyes
* If you have brown eyes, you can wear any shadow color that you want because any shade will look good with your eye color. Since your eye color is so versatile, you can mix and match all you want to get a great assortments of fun, sophisticated, romantic and dramatic looks.

Be sure to take some time to play with your palette and create a few different looks that can be worn during the day or at night (or even day to night). Keep an eye out for combinations that brighten your eyes and flatter your features. If a certain combination makes your eyes appear to be much smaller than they really are or make your eyes look like they’re very close together, try another combination. The main thing here is to keep at it until you’re satisfied.

If anyone wants to know what colour to choose to make their eyes "pop", follow the colour wheel, and from there choose depths and shades that you find to be flattering.

I think that skin tone is a factor. I think it's a really important detail to take into consideration when u choose eyeshadow colors, even more important than eye color.

  4. try shades of lighter brown with NO shimmer. And do it just on the lid, not all the way to your brow bone.

Oily eyelids will cause the eyeshadow to wear off during the day. Wipe them off with a paper napkin and apply some powder or foundation to make the eyeshadow stick. Ever tried creme eyeshadow? It gives a shiny result, not the matt kind of look that regular eyeshadow will give. Apply some glitter powder on top of the creme eyeshadow to make it look the same way throughout the day.

Apply a lighter color of shadow to your entire lid and brow bone and then use a darker shade to accent along the lid.
