The ache of acne (pimples)

Acne is often the bane of a pretty face. It is painful more emotionally than physically, for the scar that it leaves behind can last for a lifetime, adding to one’s miserable look & feeling. No doubt many expensive skin care clinics have mushroomed in ever nook & corner, offering to clear all the scars & blemishes on the face, but they are very expensive & charge exorbitant price for each sitting; not everyone can afford them.

So why not try out this simple skin care regimen to minimize the damage caused by acne & as far as possible prevent its eruption.

1) Wash your face at least twice a day, once in the morning & once at bedtime with warm water and a pure mild soap or cleanser.

2) Use a clean towel for wiping your face, let others not use it.

3) If your skin is oily, avoid using face cream. Also go easy on make-up.

4) If your skin does break out, do not touch or squeeze the pimples. Pimples if squeezed, may leave permanent marks.

5) There are a number of effective pimple creams available in the market today. Glycolic acid creams have become very popular. Consult a dermatologist (skin-specialist) to know which one is best suited for you.

6) Keep a bowl of water in the fridge & splash this cold water on your face 3-4 times a day. Cold water will tighten the pores left by pimples.

7) Drink a glass of warm water to which lemon juice & a pinch of salt is added, the very first thing in the morning.

8) Make a paste by mixing honey and cinnamon powder. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeat for two weeks.

9) Neem leaves and mint (pudina) leaves are excellent for pimples. Crush washed neem leaves or mint leaves to form a paste and apply on affected parts. Leave it for an hour.

10) Applying raw papaya paste to the face helps remove the scars left by pimples.

11) Apply a mixture of sandal wood (chandan) & turmeric (haldi) paste to the face. It dries pimples.

12) Grind nutmeg (jaiphal) with unboiled milk and apply on affected area. This works as a magic. Pimples should disappear without leaving a mark.

13) Drinking of wheat grass juice may remove acne.

14) Grind drumstick pods and leaves and mix mixed with fresh lime-juice, and apply on pimples. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots.

15) Mix groundnut oil with an equal amount of fresh lime juice and apply on face. Leave for 10-15 minutes and wash. It may be applied daily to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples.

  7. This remedy is for those big, ugly infected pimples that we all get from time to time. It will take only a day or two to heal, and this works 3/4 times for me. So, when the pimple first pops up, run a pin through some fire and poke one hole in the middle and try to squeeze before you go to bed. Nothing will probably come out, but you’ve primed the zit for the morning. At night, the pus will rise to the top. When you get up in the morning, dig the same hole out with the pin as you did the night before, and squeeze your hardest. You should get a huge, white hard ball that comes out followed by a lot of blood. You’ve done it!! Now just put a little hydrogen peroxide on the spot so it will scab up and go away!!

Mix baking soda and witch hazel/or water together until it comes to a good constancy, and then spread on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. These two things are very inexpensive and it's very easy to do since there is only two ingredients.

Toothpaste is good for drying out your pimple (for some people). Put only a little bit before you go to sleep. Some people use this as a mask but DON‘T EVER DO THIS! It can change your skin tone and make your face discolored. But this is not recommended to everyone because it can make it worse.

Try to buy a cleanser that works for you, and when you wash your face, open your pores with hot water (not too hot, or it will dry out your skin) and massage it gently into your skin. Then, use cold water at the end to close you pores. The smaller your pores are, the less likely you're prone to pimples. Clearasil, Neutrogena, and proactive are good choices to start if you want a cleanser. THey might not work for you, so try different products. Don't use body soaps because they dry out your skin. Don't scrub too hard when you wash your face, because it can irritate your skin.

Zinc (type of vitamin) is the one of the best things you can use to get rid of pimples. You can buy these almost about any large store (such as Wal-Mart or Shaws.) Have one or two tablet per day and try to cut down the junk food and replace it with vegetables and fruits. Drink lots of water and don't pop you acne. Popping acne can lead to acne scars. Zinc can be found in many types of fishes.

If you have sensitive skin, don't use make up. Some of the things in make up can clog your pores and cause pimples. Keep your hands out of your face as much as you can because you hands are full of bacteria and oils. Keep your hair out of your face because the oils in your hair could go into your pores. Change you sheets because they're are trapped with dirt, oils, etc.

An egg yoke can be used to make you pores smaller. I used this when I had pimples. Just take the egg yolk (the yellow part) and leave it on your face for 10-15 minutes and rinse off with warm water and then splash your face with cold water. Aloe vera helps acne scars lighten and less noticeable (lemon, cocoa butter, witch hazel, and tea tree oil do the same thing). Use the gel (of the aloe plant) or the real thing.

I hear accutane worked for a lot of people, check it out..
but only after taking vitamin supplements, if they don't work, then take the serious meds.
Also, don't stress about it, acne doesn't ruin people that much. I never notice it actually.

  11. Because your acne appears on your face and everyone can see it, you may feel desperate to make it go away. But because it’s not life threatening, you may feel reluctant or embarrassed to go to your healthcare provider about it. Certain people prey on that knowledge. They want to sell you expensive over-the-counter acne “cures” that don’t do you any good, or get you to order them after watching testimonial-filled infomercials. The people giving those acne “testimonials” on TV are almost always professional actors reading a script. And even those stories that are “real” generally mean nothing. You can always find one or two success stories while ignoring 99,9 percent of failures. Even if it’s on TV, on the radio, the Internet, or in magazines, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarly true. The world of acne fighting is filled with snake oils and false promises. There are promises that guarantee “five days cures” for your acne, and there are the real slow pokes that state, “try this all time-tested home treatment for acne and have clearer blemish-free skin within 30 days of use.

    1. Don't ever pinch, squeeze or pick at a pimple. This only
causes it to become more red and inflamed, and will spread the
bacteria and oils that caused it in the first place, to other
parts of your face! It can also lead to scars.
    2. Every 30 minutes, apply an ice pack to the pimple and hold it
there for about 2 minutes. This will decrease the swelling and
redness and help shrink the inflammation and pain that sometimes
    comes along with it.
    3. They don't call it concealer for nothing! Covering the pimple
with a light dose of flesh-tinted concealer can help mask it when
you're in a hurry. It also helps cover up that oily shine.
    4. Cleanse your skin 2-3 times a day with mild, unscented soap or
a specialized acne cleanser that has no harsh chemicals (such as
lye). Scrub skin gently with an exfoliating pad or washcloth, but
don't rub too hard, otherwise you'll sap your skin of its own
natural oils, which help to repel buildup naturally.
    5. Apply a cream or ointment containing benzyl peroxide or
salicylic acid (many over-the-counter acne medicines contain
these ingredients) to the blemish or around the entire facial
area. Note that these ingredients both have a tendency to dry
out skin if used too much and are not recommended if you have
    sensitive skin.
    6. Wear oil-free makeup whenever possible. These types have less
of a tendency to cause the pore buildup that results in
blemishes. Remove your makeup nightly and cleanse with an
acne-fighting medicine to remove dirt, oil and makeup from deep
    within the skin.

    7. If you're in need of a quick fix, a dab of toothpaste on the
affected area right before bed can help soothe irritation and
reduce redness. Pressing and holding a wet tea bag or a cotton
ball with a dab of lemon juice against the blemish for five
minutes can also reduce swelling and redness.
If you follow these tips, chances are you'll notice a significant
difference rather quickly - often within a day or two. If
pimples become a recurring problem or worsen, your doctor or
dermatologist can suggest a daily skin cleansing routine that
will suit your skin type. Other long-term remedies, such as
facial masks, diet adjustments and increasing the amount of water
you drink can also help combat outbreaks.

Lemon juice, honey, and tea tree oil help.

Lemon juice- Apply onto acne (or all over face) after you wash it at night. It doesn't irritate the skin or cause redness, but you may feel a burning sensation. If you do, that means it's working. It helps with redness and lightens acne scars

Honey- Apply after you wash your face and let sit for as long as possible. At least a half an hour. Then wash off. It helps kill bacteria which can cause acne.

Tea tree oil- put some on your finger or a Q-tip and dab directly onto pimples. Only apply on pimples, because it's really drying. It dries pimples out very well.

  15. Here’s some tips that I recommending for you.

    Glycerin based facewash:
Glycerin is gentler and will balance the
    pH levels in your skin.

    Antibacterial Soap:
For body acne, try using an antibacterial soap
to slowly dry out the skin. If your skin gets too dry,
if you are still searching for more home remedies do not hesitate to visit my source below
switch to a moisterizing soap like Dove to
    counterbalance the effect.

    Don’t Overwash:
Wash your face only 2 times a day max and gently
    pat dry with a towel.

    Moisterize:
Use a gentle face moisterizer if the glycerin based
face wash drys you out too much. I like using
    Aveeno moisterizers personally.

    Change Your Diet:
Eat almonds, fiber, drink lots of water and avoid
excess sugar intake. Food really does make a difference.
This is because the food you put into your body has a
direct effect on your Sebum (oil) production. By eating
the right foods, you’ll minimize oily skin, thereby
    preventing breakouts.

    Egg whites
If acne medication isn’t working or causing new breakouts,
try applying egg whites to the pimples at night before bed.
This natural remedy works by gently drying out the clogged
pores and clearing up the pimple

Try not to touch your face, if you think about it your hands are disgusting.

I use Nutrigena Acne Stress Control. It works well.
But I suggest have a couple different kinds of washes and switch them after a week. I haven't tried that but (for me) it seems that an acne product will work well at first then gets worse.

And if you wear makeup a lot of almay foundations and concealers have blemish control things in them, read labels. And I use Physicians Formula Mineral Powder. I think both help my acne.

  18. If you truly want to get rid of your acne you need to see a dermatologist so he/she can prescribe you medication. Acne can be caused by many different factors, some of which (hormones for example) cannot be controlled consciously, so doing things like washing your face everyday may never solve anything. If you have excess oil in your skin you may need to be on a topical medication or accutane. If your acne is caused by bacteria you may need an antibiotic. Either way you will need a dermatologist to prescribe you these medications. I am a 3rd year pharmacy student who used to have acne too. I know how much it sucks so I hope I helped!

There is no solution to completely removing facial hair naturally and the mildest method is threading, but a traditional paste of 3 tablespoons of ground rice (Must be wet for two hours and then ground leaving it slightly coarse with a spoon of turmeric powder , two almonds ground 6 drops of lime juice.Mixed in a paste of Butter milk and scrubbed on the hair as well as the scars will help both your problems. The scars would lighten and the hair will become less as exfoliating on the roots regularly will weaken the growth. For your hair please visit a doctor to make sure that there are no eternal causes. Hair loss can be triggered due to high fevers, pregnancy, hormonal disbalances and crash dieting. Use warm hair oil ( Shalocks ) , use a hot towel to cover your scalp to ensure complete absorption.Once a week Use Henna, eggs and curd enough to make a paste and apply it to your hair. Also try changing your shampoo. Have a good multivitamin and have a glass of low fat milk, Channas ( rich in Vitamin B and a balanced diet.

If you are looking for a low cost, effective way of getting rid of acne I suggest that you try red clover acne tea. It's actually and blend of several natural ingredients and good for a variety of inflammatory skin conditions, acne being one of them. I personally endorse this product because I use it and began using it without telling my family about it, drinking it one to two times a day.
Shortly after beginning to use it--about 2 weeks--I was helping my mother do something on the computer. She kept looking looking at me. Finally, she just stopped and said "What did you do to you skin?" Confused, I said "Nothing. Why?" She said "It looks so much better and so healthy!" Thinking rapidly I responded "Oh, that. I started to drink this special tea to help me with my acne. I suppose it's working!"
I've now been using red clover tea for a few months and my skin is healthier than ever. The bumps on my face have gone down, my skin is smoother than ever and my skin is less oily. The bumps on my back and chest have also gone down. I still have a few but compared to before they're nothing about which to complain. The best part is that it only costs me $15 every 6 weeks to 2 months to maintain my acne fighting routine which is significantly less than other acne fighting systems like Proactiv or Klear and my skin is not left feeling dry and tight, as is a common side effect with those systems.

It does treat scars but only slightly. They are supposed to be releasing a mask that help to heal the skin and treat scars.

I do continue to clean my face a few times a week with a facial cleanser and I do use a drying agent every now and again as they do have their benefits but I do not rely on them anymore.
Red Clover Acne Tea has been the most effective acne fighting product I've ever tried and will continue to us it.

try washing your face twice a day, once in the morning and once at night
I had acne from grade six until first year university. My acne was very mild until university when it got really bad. I had been using benzol peroxide cream for years (and a few other creams here and there) since about grade 7 but it never fully cleared up. In university my doctor finally put me on acutane which cleared me up completely.
My advice: see your doctor. From my experience the acne creams are BS and don't work so I suggest you push your doctor to put you on acutane. Some doctors are very careful about prescribing acutane due to the side effects they may cause (I only experienced minor side effects). If your doctor seems to be weary about accutane try seeing another doctor or a specialist. Remember that this is advice is based off my personal experience

.. using a face mask of cooked oatmeal and applying about 15 minutes is great for nourishing and helping cleans the skin. What also helps is to drink lots of clean water and remove the substance that the bacteria in your skin feeds on .. which is dead skin cells.. do this by washing your face a couple of times a day..a little water and a wash cloth will do the trick.

Acne requires a multi-faceted approach. If you have acne clean your skin gently, ry not to touch your skin when your hands are not clean, and avoid the sun.
The three basics of acne treatment are to (1) unclog pores, (2) kill bacteria, and (3) minimize oil. Use mild exfoliating cleansers to unclog your pores. Use benzoyl peroxide to kill the bacteria. Get rid of oil on the surface of your skin by using a gentle toner. Generally drug store brands will do each of these things well. You don't need to spend a fortune.

These are all good basic skin regimens that may help with the acne battle:
Cleanse twice daily with a 5% benzoyl peroxide wash. An alternative for those who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide is 2% salicylic acid.
Apply a gel or cream containing 5% benzoyl peroxide; an alternative is sulfur or resorcinol.
At night, apply a spot cream containing sulfur to the affected areas.
Use a light skin moisturizer and oil-free makeup.
If you try all these approaches and it still does not seem to work, it is time to consult your doctor. You may need a prescription medication approach to deal with your acne.

Bad acne and skin situations have been extremely delicate topics with me. I’ve been focusing on both since I was merely 10 years old, and so it’s no real surprise that I have a relatively difficult time sympathizing from best friends who have got just one pimple, whilst I have a face brimming with full-blow cystic acne. No one wants to feel as if they are the ugly duckling of their friends, yet unfortunately I am certain I was - I not ever had dates or dances, whilst my girlfriends appeared to be clinching boyfriends constantly. It really caused myself feel ignored, and I realized it had been as a result of my complexion and bad acne.
Hence, advised by my elderly cousin, that had also endured very severe acne in highschool, I tried the online solution although I was very careful - I had tried many solutions, I wasn’t certain I’d get any genuine success. It wasn’t right until one morning when I woke up and was amazed at the quality and texture of my skin - it had become smooth, significantly less red, along with only some small blemishes on my cheeks. It had merely been two weeks, and I couldn’t have been more happy - 'till the end of the 4 weeks when my skin was entirely clear. Most probably the product just might help you as well.

The main problem is that cleansers, creams, gels, liquids, lotions and powders are designed to tackle the symptoms of acne, not the real cause. The effects (if any) are not long-lasting and this can be frustrating. Acne is not a problem with your skin, but a big warning sign that something is WRONG inside your body. The thing that worked for me was to regain my natural inner balance. Within a week all my family and friends noticed a huge change. If you want a healthy and smooth skin, this will help you. And i have to warn you...it is not a quick fix, but results are seen in a short time.

Hi, I've had really bad acne for the past 7 years.
What's finally working for me is changing my diet. It took so long to figure out what was doing it because I had several bad habits.
I've stopped drinking coffee because the caffeine was a stimulant, I cut out sugar by quitting candy and chocolate, stopped eating fried foods of all kinds and began eating non-processed foods and snacks in favor of whole grains and wheat and natural items. I can honestly say that it's make a huge difference because I know I'm treating myself better and I feel better about my skin results.

As for topical treatments, I use Clearasil's Vanishing Cream for when I get random breakouts, plain toothpaste has also worked, I've use all natural witch hazel as an astringent to get rid of excess oil. As for facial moisturizers, ones by Purpose have been good to me. Also, Oil of Olay's lotions in the bottle have always been gentle.

    3. Getting older. Just getting older and over all those wild hormone swings have gotten rid of my acne.

First, let me say I know how you feel. I'm 16 and have skin problems. When i don't wash my face i break out and when i do, my skin gets very dry and irritated and lotion makes me break out as well. So what i have started doing is monitoring the foods i eat. If you google some foods that are good and bad for skin you can create healthier meals and have clearer skin. I stay away from processed, greasy foods like pizza, buttery pasta, and such. Use olive oil instead of butter and dont over-wash your face because that can dry skin out and your body will react by creating more oil which leads to breaking out. And not everyone has the time or money but sometimes going to your dermatologist helps because they are experts with skin and can even give you medication to help your skin. Just keep your head high and dont let other kids be mean about your skin, its a part of puberty and theyll have to deal with it at some point or another.

the best treatment is to avoid oil on yo face.. i mean dont allow the oil to get accumulate on yo face.. keep on washing yo face in regular interval, dont touch yo face or that pimple again and again.. dont use yo napkin and try to erase that bursted pimple.. use cotton buds instead.. for yo info on our face we have sebacious gland, which are responsible for the moisture of our face, but this sebacious secrete oil call sebum , which is the base cause for the pimple germs to grow faster.. hence try to avoid that first dear... use aloe vera gel to avoid any marks left after..
so always wash yo face as and wen you feel that it is oily.. k..

1.) If you can afford it the VERY best thing and the answer to the problem of acne, is to pay about $100 every week or so to the spa for an acne cleansing facial. Your face will not only be COMPL:ETELY free of acne but your skin will always be glowing.

2.) wash your face EVERY SINGLE DAY at least once. If your face feels greasy while you are out about you can go into any public bathroom and wash it with a wet paper towl and hand soap. If you have a Chinese Mandarin orange on hand squeeze some of that on your face aswell, it is a ready antibiotic cleanser. I have also heard that a lime or lemon works well aswell, but I have not tried it.

3.) Drink lots of water and eat as healthy as possible. I have gotten quite a bit out of my acne as it has lead me down quite a healthy lifestyle. Workout too and stay active.

4.) in case of emergency (your pimple bursts and starts bleeding out of your face) go to the bathroom and cover it with soap to clot the cut and get a makeshift scab. Then hold a dry kleenex (toilet paper) on it, to speed finish the clot. Hold it for about 1 or 2 minutes or until you notice that there is either no blood when you dab it on the kleenex (ideal) or very little.

5.) don't EVER buy a Veno, although this device sounds like it is the answer (and a modified version of it may be) the pad that they want you to hold up against the pimple is the size of the pimple and therefore IMPOSSIBLE to actually line up

6.) A very good tool to use is the Neutrovena Wave, this is a device that vibrates a nourishing pad against your face very gently, it is a great tool and you can really see the results even as it is happening (the pads, after washing your face with it, are black.)

Vitamins A & B are very important for the health of your skin. Vitamin A deficiency can cause acne or blemish etc. Vitamin A will strengthen your skin. Vitamin B is great for acne. The only Vitamin that has an anti-inflammatory effect is Vitamin C. It will help with healing and protect your immune system. A study conducted at Duke University provides evidence that Zinc is an important antioxidant supporting healthy skin. Among the findings: Zinc protects against UV radiation, enhances wound healing, contribute to immune and neuropsychiatric functions, and decrease the relative risk of cancer and cardiovascular disease. So, in addition to the antioxidant benefits Zinc offers to our skin, zinc is also important for the proper functioning of the immune system.

  54. NEVER touch your face. It's probably the worse thing you can do. Besides popping your pimples... If you pop them, it will make them spread, or even get infected. I don't advise popping them... But if you really must... Do it the right way!
