Can laser hair removal scar you for life?

If you are thinking of going in for laser hair removal to get rid of your unwanted hair permanently, be aware of the pros and cons of the treatment as well as the risks involved. Lasers can be extremely dangerous in wrong hands. Getting a laser treatment at an unlicensed clinic and under people with no medical training can be very risky. Two women Paula, an investment banker from London and Sinem Morgan, a software manager from London were left with second-degree burns, blisters and excruciating pain after undergoing a few such sittings at a laser clinic.

Some skins are just not suitable for lasers. If used on the wrong type of skin, lasers can cause serious burns and lasting pigment damage. They can also damage the eyes and cause blindness. Lured by eye-catching advertisements that promise a permanent hair-removal, people flock to such unscrupulous clinics only to be return dissatisfied with the results not to mention the exorbitant expenses involved. In most cases, the hair removal is not permanent, but this is never made clear to patients.

Mom’s diet and baby’s gender

Undoubtedly, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But new studies have revealed some more interesting facts. The study involved 740 healthy pregnant women – they were required to fill a detailed questionnaire regarding their food habit in the year prior to conceiving. Using this data, the researchers determined that women who ate the most calories around the time of conception delivered more boys, with 56% giving birth to male babies, compared with 45% of women who ate the fewest calories prior to conceiving. Of those who reported eating breakfast cereal every day, 59% gave birth to boys compared with 43% of women who reported rarely or never eating cereal for breakfast. The findings in no way prove that what a woman does or doesn't eat prior to conception influences her baby's sex.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Cleansing PadsDuring summer it’s quite common to have a layer of sweat over the face; oily skin especially has to bear the brunt. A quick way to feel clean and refreshed is to use Aveeno Positively Radiant Cleansing pads and wipe off grime from the face and neck, any time, anywhere. These cleansing pads are pre-moistened with skin-conditioning cleansers and natural soy to reveal a brighter, naturally radiant skin. One side of the pad is textured to gently exfoliate; the other side is smooth and can be used to rub out the hidden dirt, oil and makeup which tend to clog the pores and cause breakouts. Wet your face and massage the smooth side of the pad gently all over to work up lather; then use the rough side to exfoliate and get rid of all that accumulated gunk. Rinse face thoroughly and dispose off the used pad.

Each tub contains 28 cleansing pads only and the price is rather steep – around $6. Looks like this product is more suitable for oily skins; might prove a little harsh on dry and sensitive skin, though the product claims otherwise. Other features: hypoallergenic, noncomedogenic, and soap-free.
