My hair tends become dull and limp in a couple of days of shampooing. So I’m always on the lookout for a good shampoo. So when my friend raved about the goodness of this shampoo called ‘Pantene Pro-V Smooth and Sleek Shampoo with conditioner’, I decided to give it a try. Though my hair is a bit oily, I went in for this particular shampoo meant for normal to dry hair as I didn’t want to strip my hair of all its sebum by using other strong shampoos. And I must admit that it didn’t let me down; all I can say is Smooth and Sleek Shampoo & Conditioner really helped make my hair smooth and manageable and it stayed that way for nearly a week. I could feel the softness from the very first wash. It even did something to the texture of my hair; now it’s highly manageable with no unruly flyaway hairs and simply looking great. The shampoo itself has a pleasant and light fragrance and I am planning to use it for a long time.

Hi,
I have been a reader of your blog since quite a while. Believe me - its amazing and rich source of information.
Considering today's piece of Shampoos, I had a few queries.. I got a post from a friend of mine which gave me a list of shampoos and should never be used on hair because they contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS)which is harmful to the hair. No doubt, the list of shampoos which contain this is long - and also includes my favourites one too and hence I'm worried. Could you throw any light on the same?
Some of the shampoos mentioned in the forward are CLEAR , FRUCTIS ,Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal , Body Shop.. and besides, there is limited range of shampoos left in the market for one to try.
Hi Reema, Thanks for dropping by. Really happy to know that you like my blog. You are right. E-mails carrying such information are often circulated on the Internet and we have to verify these things before forwarding it to others. This is what I found about Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS):
Information circulating around the Internet has raised questions about the safety of Sodium Laureth Sulfate. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) has fully assessed the safety of this ingredient and found it to be safe. This information that is circulating also has used SLS as a synonym for Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This is incorrect as well. SLS actually stands for Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, which a different chemical.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate appear to be safe in formulations designed for discontinuous, brief use followed by thorough rinsing from the surface of the skin. In products intended for prolonged contact with skin, concentrations should not exceed 1 percent.
Hope this helps.
Aparna, this is a beautiful beauty bolg

I've heard the same thing about Pantene, however I've used it for years and my hair has never been greasy. i used the Pantene line for curly hair and it worked great.
I love using this shampoo because the scent really lingers in your hair. It's also a pretty great shampoo. =)
