Women mostly tend to sleep with their make-up on out of sheer tiredness or plain laziness without sparing a thought for their poor skin. Going to bed with make-up on can clog the skin pores, aggravate acne and damage your skin. Removing make-up is as important as wearing make-up. No matter how tired you feel, it always does good to sleep without any muck on your face so that your skin can breathe freely. That fresh feeling that you experience after cleaning yourself might even give you a sound sleep.
After returning home, rest a while before removing make-up. It can be little tacky and so do not get irritated and ruin your skin by rubbing too hard in the process.
Removing make-up
Take a small piece of cotton or a cotton ball and put a small quantity of a suitable cleanser, baby oil or make-up remover (coconut oil or olive oil will also do) onto the ball. Very gently rub over the face to remove the makeup. Use another ball for lipstick.
As for eyes, we need a small narrow piece of cotton that does not bend much. Moisten a cotton ball with eye makeup remover and remove all traces of makeup by gently wiping each eye until the makeup dissolves. Avoid using cleanser on the eyes as it can be very drying. You can use a face moisturizer to remove the eyeliner. Remove it in exactly the same way you applied it – in sweeping motions, from in to out. Never rub the eyelids. It can enhance the advent of wrinkles as well as crows-feet.
This done, dab (dab, not rub) a clean dry tissue all over the face to remove oil. Then wash with a mild soap or face wash or whatever one is used to. Use lukewarm water for this purpose. Wash twice if necessary and rinse several times until you are free of all the make-up residues from your face. Dab dry with soft towel and then moisturize to prevent dryness.

If it feels like you are pulling your eyelashes off then you are probably using too much mascara or being too rough when removing your make-up.

When you remove your make-up apply some eye make-up remover to a cotton wool bad. Then close your eyes and gently press the pad onto it, hold it there for a few seconds and then gently pulll the pad downwards. Repeat this 4 times (or until the mascara is removed from your lashes) and then with a clean pad (with make-up remover on) wipe horizontally across the eyelid and then underneath the ere until your make-up is removed.
Nail polish- Acetone. Or any nail polish remover.

Lipstick- Goes with makeup removers.
Wash your hair to get it the way it was before. Use a conditioner as well.

ReplyDeleteI got the idea somewhere that it's not a good idea to use Vaseline around your eyes--but I could be mistaken. At any rate, I use baby oil in the gel form to remove my eyeliner and eye shadow. Like Vaseline, it's very inexpensive (the store or generic brand works fine), lasts a long time, and only requires a tiny dab to get the job done.
ReplyDeleteTake the time to cleanse your face at the end of the day. You want to look good during the day, but it is important that your skin be free of make up at the end of it. You can use make up as your normally would, but at the end of the day take the time to wash your face thoroughly to remove make up, use your toner, and finish with your moisturizer.

ReplyDeleteEye makeup remover: you need one that will remove your eye makeup easily with as little rubbing as possible. A good one is half oil and half water and you will need to shake it up prior to using it then squirt some onto a cotton pad or ball and gently remove your eye makeup. It may leave your eyes feeling a little oily but the oil is good at removing all eye makeup, even waterproof mascara. You can run water on your eyes after wards to get rid of the oily feeling if you'd like.
ReplyDelete-Cream cleanser: this will remove all dirt, oil, and makeup but not water from your skin. You need to find one that you can use with absolutely no water. Just squirt some onto your hands and rub it onto your dry skin in a circular motion (avoid the eyes). You can then remove it with tissues, a damp washcloth, or just rinse it off with water and pat it dry.

oil oil can be Used as a makeup remover
ReplyDeleteuse almond oil. You might need a bit more of it than you will of the regular kind of make-up removal but it’s worth it. Especially your eyelids get really dry after wearing make-up all day and almond oil will make them smooth again. Just use a cotton ball.
