Packaging:

As you can see from the image, Patanjali Soundarya Face Wash comes packed in a white colored, opaque plastic tube with a golden colored flip  cap. The packaging seems to be quite sturdy and strong. It also appears to be quite spill-proof and travel friendly.

Fragrance

When you squeeze out a little bit of it, you can see that it is white in color and  has a creamy texture. It does have a citrusy aroma – not too much, and a slight hint of a clinical smell but since the overall fragrance isn’t too overpowering, that’s not a con as such.

Patanjali Saundarya face wash - pea sized amount in palm

My experience:

I gently splash water on my face to wet it. Then I take a pea-sized amount  of the face wash and gently massage it on my face. A little goes a long way… Yes, you only require a pea sized amount of it.

It has such a creamy texture -feels like a shaving cream, in fact! Unlike the previous version, it doesn’t work up too much lather but rather feels like creamy foam stuck to your face.

When I rinsed it off,  my face feel squeaky clean but I got a bit of dry and stretchy feeling after that, which I didn’t like too much. And I have a combination to oily skin. So forget about dry skin, I think it’s not even suitable for normal skin.

I have been using it since last 2 weeks and as far I have noticed it doesn’t prevent pimples. These days I normally don’t get pimples but once in a while it does erupt. In fact, 1-2 pimples did erupt after using it. I wouldn’t say that this face wash caused it, but it didn’t do anything to prevent it also.

To be fair, this face wash does a good job of removing dirt, oil and dullness from my face and the fragrance does linger on the face for quite a bit. The face also glows for a while.

But that's all to it, nothing exceptional but not bad also!

Pros of New Patanjali Saundarya Face Wash

  • Only a little amount is required for a wash.
  • Paraben free
  • Pthalates free
  • Inexpensive
  • Goodness of aloe, neem, orange peel & tulsi
  • Added goodness of pearl and vitamin B3
  • Deep cleanses skin to remove dirt, grime and dead cells.
  • Imparts a temporary glow to the face.

Cons of New Patanjali Saundarya Face Wash

  • Face feels a bit tight and stretchy after washing
  • Does not prevent or treat acne and pimples
  • Not suitable for dry or normal skins

Conclusion

New Patanjali Soundarya Face Wash isn’t a bad product. It does its job to a certain extent for oily to combination skin  but it’s not likely to be suitable for normal and dry skins. Overall it’s a good, cheap, drugstore product that’s free from parabens and SLS.

Coconut oil for beauty

Coconut oil, due its high saturated fat content was branded as unhealthy and artery-clogging which could cause heart diseases. This claim has been widely disproved by the scientific community and it is now being hailed as one of world’s healthiest cooking oils. Though it may take time, perceptions are slowly changing as people are beginning to realize its tremendous benefits. Coconuts and coconut oil have always been a part of the cuisine in tropical countries like India (South) and Sri Lanka and even today coconut is indispensable in their diet. For now, let’s leave aside the health benefits and focus our attention on the beauty uses of this wonderful oil. South Indian women swear by it. Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.
