Bridal Detox

Every bride wants to look rested and flawless on her wedding day and you shouldn’t leave anything to chance. Weddings are stressful as it is so getting nervous and munching on unhealthy foods may lead you to have your dress altered or looking worn out on your big day. And going on a rigorous diet may do you more harm than good if you’re not getting enough of the right nutrients.

After the Hens Party
If your party involves alcohol you’ll need to take steps to jump back from the damage it does to the body, especially if your maid of honour decides to have the party close to the wedding. Mandatory hens party supplies will surely make your party wild and unforgettable, so plan to recuperate the next day and don’t make any plans. Eat a protein-rich breakfast to keep your strength up and go for berries and melons to reduce bloating and keep you hydrated. Have a lean lunch with grilled poultry or tofu, with plenty of light vegetables like broccoli, mushrooms and carrots, also keep your dinner lean. Amp up your water intake with smoothies, water and fruits and avoid salt. After the party avoid alcohol as much as you can until your wedding day.

Foods
Avoid junk food at all cost and this is a sacrifice you’ll have to make. You’re on a detox plan for your wedding so all the sugary, fatty and creamy goodies must be avoided. Junk food is heavy so it will leave you feeling bloated and it’s full of preservatives and additives that are known to cause breakouts. Make it a habit to eat a large bowl of fresh fruits at every meal because they have minerals, fibre and antioxidants. Always go for whole grain, not only are they full of minerals and nutrients but fibre as well which will help you be regular. Leafy greens help flush out all the toxins out and you should be eating salads with every meal. Citrus fruits keep your body clean while speeding up your metabolism, so start the day with squeezing half a lemon into a warm glass of water. Avoid coffee and drink teas as much as you can.

Spa Day
Planning a wedding is stressful and stress will affect not only your health but also your complexion and mental state, so it’s a good idea to get a spa treatment once a week to help you overcome it. Massages will ease up the tension in your muscles, help you relax and ease the pain in your back and neck. If the massage doesn’t work think about trying acupuncture. Acupuncture has helped many overcome floods of negative emotions that come when they feel like they’re losing control over their lives. Yoga and meditation will help you keep your emotions under control for those days when nothing is going the way you want. And good old exercise will help you release all that negative energy and keep your body fit too.

Don’t let anything spoil the day you will marry the person you love, so even if things do go wrong there is no point in stressing over every little detail. The fact that you have found your soulmate makes you one of the lucky few in the world and that alone should bring you peace and comfort.
