Boost your fertility with Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a medical practice that started in China dating more than 2,500 years ago involving the insertion of needles in the skin. It is an ancient way of treating diseases, relieving pain, and boosting fertility. This discipline believes in the principle that qi which is life force is obstructed when there is an imbalance in yin and yang. This is manifested by malfunction of body organs.

There are 12 meridians in the body where qi flows. These meridians are like pathways. If one or more of them are obstructed and qi does not flow as it should, major organs are affected. This leads then to diseases and incapability to conceive. Acupuncture alters the distribution of yin and yang in these areas to bring a person back to health by normalizing the flow of qi.

Its Benefits to the Female Body
As stated previously, obstruction of qi flow leads to malfunction of organs including the ovaries and uterus which are vital to a woman’s pregnancy and fertility.

There was a study in New York Weill Cornell Medical Center that proves that acupuncture helps in reproduction. It regulates ovulation, and builds follicles that are responsive to stimulation by hormones from the pituitary gland. When a follicle responds to this stimulation, it releases a mature egg ready for fertilization. However, those that are not responsive do not release eggs and just disintegrates. Acupuncture’s goal is to produces responsive follicles to increase chances of fertility.

Acupuncture also helps in the thickening of the wall in the uterus by increasing blood flow. A thick uterine wall is favorable for pregnancy. Blood flow also increases in the ovaries nourishing and improving it. Naturally, this flow declines as a woman grows old making the ovaries incapable of its original functions due to malnourishment. Therefore, acupuncture not only builds a good womb for implantation and fetal development but also nourishes it.

Another benefit of this medical practice is that it releases a decapeptide, an amino acid that is essential for reproduction. This is by increasing the production of endorphins in the body. It has been medically proven that endorphins help release this amino acid.

It also regularizes the menstrual and ovulation cycle which most women find hard to keep track.  Regular menstrual flow is conducive to family planning. It also prevents women who suffer from menstrual-related sickness like dysmenorrhea from always adjusting their scheduled activities because of the pain, menstrual cramps, etc.

Acupuncture also normalizes hormonal imbalance or polycyctic ovarian syndrome that some women have.

Things that Repress Fertility are Eliminated
Inflammation, illness, and weakness affect chances of fertility. Likewise, an over-active immune system has bad effects to pregnancy so what acupuncture does is that it eliminates inflammation, and strengthens, at the same time regulates, the immune system.

Stress hormones inhibit fertility. Acupuncture relieves stress and encourages fruitfulness by doing so.

More Benefits
Yin is believed to be the female principle. We have looked at the many benefits of acupuncture to the female body. Yang, on the other hand, is the male principle. To maintain balance, we’ll look at acupuncture’s benefit on men.

It increases a man’s sperm count, quality, and density. It also makes the sperm able to move more spontaneously and actively. Some sperm cells die on their way to the egg cell because of the acidity in the female reproductive organ. But if they travel faster, there is a higher chance of sperm cells reaching the egg cell and thus, fertilizes it.

Acupuncture Is Still Being Practiced Today
Acupuncture is one of the best natural ways to cure reproductive organs that do not function perfectly, and promote fertility and healthy pregnancy. If you want to be fruitful but do not want to compromise your health by using artificial methods, try acupuncture. You may find the best acupuncturist in Melbourne. This practice has existed for a very long time and is still existing in this modern era in spite of the blossoming technology in medicine. There must be a reason for this – it works.
