Hairstyles-choose according to the shape of your face

A hairstyle helps to accentuate or draw away certain facial characteristics. There are a whole lot of ways to style our hair depending on your face structure. If you like your hair styled long, there are long frizzy hair styles, long curly hair styles, long layered hair styles, long braided hairstyles, etc.

The following are tips on styles that can make the most of your particular features:

*
For a face too round, one can put a side part in the hair. This will slim and lengthen a face that’s too round.

* For thin face, curls or fullness at the sides will widen a long, thin face.

* For a large nose, a full hairstyle or upswept crown makes the nose less noticeable. For sharp, angular features, a wavy or curly hairstyle will soften a chiseled cheekbone, nose or jaw.

* A broad forehead can be concealed with a fringe or a flick and a square jaw line can be softened with a hairstyle which frames the face.

* For a high forehead, a horizontal line of full bangs can cover the forehead, balancing the face.

* For a strong or square chin, a short cut with soft curls or fullness at the crown, takes attention away from the chin.

* A top-knot adds height to a small face or short body while a perfectly oval, well-chiseled face can be shown off with a severe hairstyle, drawn away from the face.

* Women with small faces look good with shoulder length hair, rather than very short hair.

* Older women should opt for a ‘softer’ hairstyle, in which the hair is not drawn away from the face (as it emphasizes the wrinkles and age lines) but which frames the face.

* If you have a swan-like beautiful neck, you can sweep your hair into a high top knot or a French bun and draw attention to your neck.

* Girls and women using spectacles should not have a “severe” hairstyle, a softer one looks more attractive.

A great option for round faces are long layers. Keep hair longer than the chin and ask for long layers cut into hair.

Beating stress – some tips

It is very difficult to come across a happy, contented face in a crowd these days. Stress has become a way of life with people these days. Sure, we all need to be a little tense once in a blue moon. After all it acts as a positive force and helps us get things done. But when tension becomes a habit with us and we are unable to cope up with it, we say we are undergoing stress. Some people are simply born more tense than others. Children of over-anxious parents generally grow up to be more anxious than the others.

Home remedies for common cold

Common cold is a very common malady which affects people during monsoons. (Also see the post Beauty and body care in monsoon for a monsoon beauty regimen.) It can be caused by any one of more than 200 viruses. Normally it is confined to the nose and throat although the virus can infect the larynx and lungs. It is said that there is no particular cure for colds, they are naturally relieved within a week. Treatment is just an attempt to relieve its symptoms such as headache, stuffy nose, sore-throat and congestion. Paracetamol tablets are generally taken to get relief from these symptoms.

A few homemade remedies are provided below which will serve the purpose equally well. Hope this will benefit the readers. 1. Always wash your face with mild soap so that the pores breathe fresh air.
