* Curd and lime juice on the scalp is a very popular and effective application against dandruff. Also use a tsp of fresh lime juice in water for the last rinse of hair to remove stickiness.
* Make an application of the bark of the mango tree pasted in milk or just plain water, on the head for a few weeks to rid yourself of dandruff.
* About 25 gm of dry gooseberries (amla) is soaked in a liter of water overnight. It is boiled in the morning until half of it remains. Beets have been found useful in dandruff. Both tops and roots should be boiled in water and this water should be massaged into the scalp with the finger tips every night. White beet is better for this purpose.

Dandruff is caused by infection on scalp.
Two things here - first, you will need to get rid of infection. Any home remedy, doc's medicine etc can help. Nizoral anti-dandruff shampoo from J&J is one such that helped me.
Second - you have got to prevent repeat infection. As the root cause is the excess oiliness in scalp, it helps to adjust your diet to avoid excess fat and oil. Then you should regularly wash your hair with a good shampoo to rid it of all oil and dust. Also avoid using towels, combs etc used by others.

Dandruff is a skin condition that causes flakes. It occurs in the scalp, ears, nose, and other parts of the body that have higher oil content. This is the reason that the skin is forced to shed old cells at a rapid rate; thus, the appearance of flakes. It causes problems and can have more serious complications like massive hair loss.

To prevent dandruff, shampoo your hair regularly. This keeps the hair clean. If you already have dandruff, use a mild shampoo or anti-dandruff one that contains zinc pyrithione or salicylic acid. Make sure to rinse your scalp and hair completely. Washing your hair brushes and hair combs regularly also prevents dandruff from appearing. This makes sure that anything that touches your scalp is clean.

  29. Hair fall and dandruff can occur due to various reasons, some of them can be due to Faulty hair...mental worries and lack of vitamins....sometimes it can be hereditary.....or due to unclean condition of scalp...if u go on changing your shampoos and conditioner then too you can have hair fall.....
Now having unclean scalp, frequently changing shampoos ,hormonal imbalance, stress, immune suppression, infrequent shampooing, illness, or increased oil production, a mild inflammation is seen that produces dead skin cells. This condition can become quite disconcerting and worrisome when the skin gets infected causing dandruff....
A teaspoon of fresh lime juice in the last hair rinse combined with a light weight conditioner can also be effective to treat dandruff. Furthermore, this adds much needed luster to the hair as well.
Massage the scalp and hair with coconut milk or milk. Leave it for hour, then rinse with warm water. Repeat 3 times a week till hair loss decreases.
Heat 30-40 ml of coconut oil, add two or three flakes of garlic and three to four peppercorns to the mixture. Cool and apply to the scalp. Wash off nest morning with a mild shampoo to find healthy and voluminous hair. Try this twice a week for three to four weeks to find a long term solution to the problem of dandruff, along with healthy hair.

  30. hair fall has a lot of reasons, it all depends: could be psychological (stress, depression, etc.) or too much work or it could be hereditary or the environment you live in or even the fact that you're shampooing almost every day and using hair oil a little too much. As for the dandruff, it's basically a dirty scalp or maybe you have a dry scalp, that usually has no remedy, sorry; check with a dermatologist.
In the mean time, for the dandruff try washing your hair every 2 days with a shampoo specially for dandruff (eg. Head & Shoulders) and with another shampoo afterward (H&S tends to leave the hair dry), avoid sweating too much, avoid the sun a little, don't use caps, don't use too much hair oil... All these factors could have given you dandruff and can make it worst

DANDRUFF is caused from a scalp that is either too dry or too oily. Shampoo daily to reduce excess oil and skin buildup. Medicated shampoos are helpful, and can be purchased for dry, normal or oily hair. Massage into scalp and let sit for 5 minutes allowing medication to work.

If you have a dandruff shampoo, use it for several days. Don't rinse for 3-5 minutes and then rinse. If it doesn't clear up, it may be lice and then you need a lice shampoo. If it is, you must change your bedding and wash in hot, hot water and vacuum the bed itself.

For dandruff Take a warm shower, shampooing, then use a conditioner, but before rinsing get out and wrap a warmed towel around your head like girls do. Keep it in for 10 mins then rinse. It won't be cured right away but it locks in moisture. No promises that it'll work but I've heard it does for some people.
