Chickenpox is a childhood disease but even adults do get it. Scars caused by chickenpox tend to fade away gradually in a matter of few days and it's only in rare cases that it leaves pockmarks and blemishes behind, especially if you had picked at those lesions or scratched them. DeleteFor marks left behind by chicken pox, it is important for you to remember that it may not always be possible to get rid of them completely. You can, however, lighten them considerably. One of the most effective ways of doing this is to apply silicone to your scars. This product is available at select pharmacies, so you may have to hunt for it a bit. But it helps considerably in lightening scars. You can also dab on a mixture of orange juice and aloe vera gel topically to your scars and they will lighten considerably.

ReplyDeleteYou should always let the scabs dry and fall off naturally. In order to prevent scarring, keep the sores clean by washing them daily with a soft wash-cloth. Add a few leaves of margosa in your bath water to reduce the itching and prevent infection and scarring. Alternately add a few teaspoons of baking soda in the water before bathing. Keep your nails trimmed and do not scratch the scabs. Apply calamine lotion or sandalwood paste on the scabs and later on the scars to ensure that there are no permanent marks.
