Generally 5.00 a.m to 8.00 a.m. is the best time for yoga practice. The duration may be fixed according to your capacity; normally it could be about 45 minutes.

Place: Select a quiet secluded place, where fresh air is easily available like a verandah, terrace, garden etc. It should be free from moisture, dust, insects, bad odor and cold or hot wind.

Dress: Dress should be clean, light and loose fitting to allow free movement of limbs, abdomen, waist, and neck in any direction. Light cotton garments should be preferred.

Preparation of mind: Always begin Yoga practice in meditative posture. Try to keep the mind always from all disturbances and tensions. Be calm and concentrate on mental peace and pose. Silence must be observed during Yoga practice.

Regularity and Patience: Speedy or miraculous results should not be expected soon after starting yoga practice. Regular and patient practice for about 6 months will show perceptible benefits. The time duration may be less in the beginning, but can be increased gradually.

Guidance: Yoga practice should be learnt under the guidance of a competent teacher. Ensure not to learn wrong techniques. For persons with history of serious illness a medical checkup and guidance of a qualified doctor is advisable. Persons suffering form heart trouble, high or low blood pressure and any serious organic diseases should avoid such postures which may create trouble.
