3 Reasons Why Yoga Will Make You Beautiful

Whether your experience with yoga is that one-off gym class you attended two years ago, or your thrice-weekly morning ritual, you’ll want to keep this post in mind.

When you feel good, you’ll look good. Becoming a more beautiful person within and without can begin with something as simple as 15 minutes of basic yoga stretches every morning.

No matter how much or little you may know about yoga right now, it’s never too late to step up and begin the transformation.

From this article, you will understand how consistent practice of yoga positively impacts your physical, mental and emotional well-being.

And hopefully, you’ll be inspired to incorporate yoga practice into your daily routine and enhance your inner and outer beauty.

What is Yoga?

Yoga originated as an ancient Indian practice thousands of years ago. It was a term associated with both religious practices and philosophical beliefs.

It was only in the 1980s, less than 40 years ago, that yoga steadily gained traction in Western society as a form of physical exercise and fitness. Since then, it has become a popular physical activity both in mainstream society and in medical practice.

Today, yoga has evolved and steadily risen to become one of the most mainstream types of fitness activities. Many gyms and dance studios are steadily opening new yoga classes and courses for their members.
And now we move on to the 3 reasons that yoga will make you more beautiful.

HEALTH is Beauty

One of the biggest appeals of yoga is the tangible benefits it has toward your physical health. Many of the yoga poses (or asanas) are good stretches, and improve one’s balance, muscle control and coordination, and promote good blood circulation throughout the body.

Even many of the basic poses, that almost all of us can manage without much effort, require a significant amount of balance and control in order to be sustained for a few seconds.

PEACE is Beauty

The second benefit of yoga is its stress-relieving properties. Yoga practice often involves repeated sets of deep breathing and meditation, usually in a quiet and calming ambience.

The combinational effect of oxygenating your body and clearing your mind for a period of time lowers your heart rate, and encourages physical and mental relaxation. Simply sitting cross-legged (The Easy Pose, or Sukhasana) and breathing deeply and rhythmically for a few minutes can be therapeutic.

Now do you see how yoga is something that you can practise everyday?

HAPPINESS is Beauty

Finally, yoga can improve emotional well-being as well. In yoga, different body parts are believed to be associated with different types of emotions. These emotions could be manifested as tension and stiffness in the joints of your body.

For example, anger is typically associated with tension in the spine. This tension can be relieved by doing forward or backbends that involve articulation of the spine - which in turn will dissipate the pent-up frustration caused by the negative emotions.

Beyond the anatomy-specific associations with emotions, the movement and physical exertion of yoga also releases endorphins into the bloodstream. Endorphins are the body’s way of reducing the sensation of pain, and also associated with feelings of joy and happiness. This is the explanation behind feelings of emotional satisfaction after completing an intense physical workout.

Look Beautiful, Feel Beautiful

The fashion industry has responded to the popularity of yoga. The term ‘athleisure’ was coined to describe the hottest trend in activewear today. It describes apparel, such as yoga pants or leggings, that are both functional inside the gym, and trendy enough to be worn outside the gym as well.

While yoga can be practised in any attire that is comfortable enough for you to move and stretch in, it definitely doesn’t hurt to have fun, fashionable yoga outfits in your wardrobe either.

For example, fashion search engine picVpic curates a diverse range of yoga-related apparel from brands like Nike, Beyond Yoga and Forever 21.

Today is the perfect day to begin the transformation into a more beautiful you. We wish you all the best in your new life-changing yoga lifestyle!

  3. Yoga can be a great friend in every diet. It's all about hormones balance. There are no "bad" hormones. But when hormones get unbalanced, bad things happen in your body. Your body releases cortisol when you're under stress. It's part of the whole “fight or flight” response. Increased cortisol levels could be making you fat. The kind of fat you are most likely to store from elevated cortisol is called visceral fat — the dangerous belly fat that’s linked to diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels.
