DIY Beauty Recipes to Treat Blackheads

It is essential to maintain everything around you in a perfectly clean condition. Otherwise, you risk to seriously harm your health. And it is of the uttermost importance that you pay special attention to the hygiene of your body. And your face, being constantly exposed to the severities of the weather as well as dust and other unpleasant things, requires more thorough care. It should be regularly exfoliated, cleansed, and moisturised, in order to maintain its fresh look. And I am sure that when speaking of facial care, the first thing that pops into every girl's mind is the problem of coping with the obnoxious blackheads. Dear readers, it is my pleasure to tell you that after you read this article, you will no longer need to use the expensive products that promise excellent and long-lasting results, but usually turn out to be extremely ineffective. You will be able to make your own and they all contain ingredients that you certainly have in your home.

Here, I consider it the right place to bust an old myth – actually, it appears that blackheads are not dirt. Yet, this does not mean that you should sport them proudly on your nose, chin, or forehead. But let us return to their nature. Generally speaking, they are sebum (an oily matter, secreted by the sebaceous glands) and dead cells collected in your hair follicles. Moreover, despite their name, they might be yellow, as well.
As already mentioned, there are hundreds of cleansing products, offered on the market. However, my experience shows that they might cause further blackheads breakouts and make your skin even oilier. This is why I prefer natural cleansers. Not only they are less pricey and easier to acquire, but I find them way more effective. And here are three of my favourite do-it-yourself recipes, perfect for facial care. I guarantee that your blackheads will be considerably reduced in no time.

The Good Old Baking Soda

We can all think of at least three of the many practical uses of baking soda. And it seems that it can be used as a facial exfoliant. You will only need 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of water. Mix them until they form a thick paste. Apply a small quantity of it on the affected areas, after you have washed your face with warm water. Massage gently for a minute or two and rinse the product off. Make sure that you stay home for an hour or two, for your face might go slightly red after this treatment.

Lemon Juice

Apart from being extremely healthy and delicious (in my opinion), lemons are also good for your skin. If you apply lemon juice on your face two or three times a day, your blackheads will be quickly reduced and your pores will tighten. You can add honey, too. For instance, you can squeeze half a lemon and add one tablespoon of honey to it along with 1 tbsp of salt. Apply the mixture on your face and rub it for a minute. Let it stay for 5-7 minutes Then wash it off with warm water. This will not only remove blackheads but will leave your skin glowing as well!

Egg Whites

They are yet another edible product that is excellent for your skin. You will only need two egg whites. Beat them carefully until they form a foamy substance. Gently apply them on your nose, chin, forehead, or any other affected area and wait for about 15 minutes. Remove the product by means of soft wet cloth. Similarly to the lemon juice, egg whites shrink the pores and thus force the blackheads out.

Bananas

Banana pulp as well as banana peels have been used extensively by Jamaicans for that radiant glow. But did you know that banana peel can also be used on blackheads. Rub the blackhead covered area of your face with the inside part of a banana peel. After finishing, just check the banana peel; you'll find several blackish dots sticking to it.

Fenugreek (Methi)

Gently scrub a paste of fenugreek / methi seeds powder mixed with honey or water on blackheads and leave for 10 minutes. Then wash off with warm water.

Rakta Chandan (Red sandalwood)

Red sandalwood paste is the choicest recipe for suntans, acne-prone skin and blackheads. Just pound a piece of red sandalwood with honey or water on a stone and apply the ensuing paste all over your face and not just on the blackhead covered area. Leave it for 10-15 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water followed by a splash of cold water and see how your face glows sans blackheads. If you cannot get sandalwood chips (1 Lb Red Sandalwood Chips (HSANRCB) you can use red sandalwood powder (Red Sandalwood powder 1oz (HSANRP) also. Just mix it  well with the above mentioned ingredients.

These were the most effective and the easiest to prepare recipes to treat your blackheads with. I guarantee that the above-mentioned products will make your face perfectly clean, soft, and moisturised. There are few things take into consideration, so as to be able to maintain the fresh look of your skin and to reduce its oiliness. First, you need to wash your pillowcase at least once a week, in order to remove the dead cells you have left on it. In fact, you have to do your best to secure yourself with a clean domestic and work (when this is possible) environment. Next, try to wear less make-up, for it tends to clog your pores. It is highly recommended that you apply more natural products on your face and considerably reduce the use of inorganic ones. And finally, it is a good idea to regularly soak the oil from your skin by means of tissue paper. I promise that your face will always look in a spotless condition, if you follow these little pieces of advice.
