Best Moisturizer for Acne Prone Skin

Having breakouts on your skin?  Is your skin getting dry and becoming prone to acne? It's time to get the best moisturizer available around and get acne free skin. Choosing the best one is dependent on your skin type, it's always recommended to consult your dermatologist.

Moisturizers are mixtures of chemicals which are designed to soften the external layers of the skin. These will increase skin hydration. Commercially available moisturizers are generally made of skin lipids and sterols and a combination of artificial and natural oils, emollients, lubricants etc. There are a wide variety of moisturizers available in the market for different types of skin.

Many options are available on the market in the form of gels, lotions and creams. Using lotions and gels can result with clogged pores and which implies, your skin will be more prone to acne. The basic reason for someone to use moisturizers would be for 'dry skin.’ The dryness of the skin can be dealt with increasing the hydration state of the stratum corneum through a humectants or occlusive effect (medically). This involves smoothing the rough surface with an emollient, with natural moisturizing factors, resulting with smooth and non dry skin. There are a few recommendations for selecting a moisturizer that is best for your skin type.

Oil Free Moisturizers Firstly, as mentioned above, it depends on your skin type for looking for a moisturizer for acne-free skin. In the case of too much dryness it is suggested that you go for a lotion which is oil free. Before buying any cosmetics one should examine the label, especially if it's for acne, the result can be a face with acne, if the lotion or gel contains chemicals which are prone to breaking out your skin. It's essential that you check for "noncomedogenic" - those which doesn't block the pores. This will result in high resistance for acne prone skin.

Reaction Causing Moisturizers Secondly, in case you’re undergoing medication and consuming vitamin 'A' for any reason, to reduce acne on your skin then there is a probability that you may end up with red rashes or red marks as a side effects. This may often continue for months unless undergone medication. To eradicate such kind of situations, for those who have sensitive or dry skin  one can use smooth moisturizers like ultra calming cream.

Apart from the above there are a few other things based on which one can consider for choosing a moisturizer, basically with respect to their personal taste like smell, feel and price. Most of the commercial products will come up with appealing scents like lavender, rose, sandal etc, which include chemical scents (sometimes natural). It is recommended to use scents less or the one with minimal ingredients which are not a part of moisturizing. Since these may increase the probability of ending up with acne-prone skin.

Acne prone skin can be someone's worst nightmare for many. Thinking of moisturisers, lotions and creams would be a big headache. To ensure non dry skin one must take precautions to hydrate your skin at regular intervals.  Having acne free skin will make your face look better and boosts your confidence.
