Nicole Faria's Fitness Tips

Her advice to those who want to lose weight in her words.

There is no better way than dancing to lose that extra flab.

Plus, if you don't like slaving it in the gym, dancing is all the more better for you. It's all fun and frolic and you will never realize that you have lost oodles of weight in a matter of few days. Moreover you'll also acquire grace in your movements.

I am into belly dancing from a long time and it has not only helped me burn calories but has also toned up my body.

My love for gym started when I started preparing for the beauty pageant, I started hitting  the gym everyday for an hour. That helped me a lot.

In the gym, I mainly focus on circuit training and weights for about 40-45 minutes.

In my childhood, I used to attend yoga classes with my mother. Later I took up Bharatanatyam, belly-dancing, horse-riding, kickboxing and martial arts.

I always make sure to fill my stomach with fruits and veggies before I actually eat a meal. When the body is on starvation mode, (dinner to breakfast or breakfast to lunch and so on), the body absorbs all the nutrients and fats from the food consumed. So make sure you eat something healthy first. This way, you’ll get full with something healthy as opposed to eating junk, and becoming fat.

I also make it a point to drink lots of water .Hydration helps get rid  of toxic waste accumulated in our system and helps with a myriad of health problems. For me, proper hydration prevents headaches.

I have also realized the importance of power naps and do not miss that leisurely afternoon siesta when I get the time.

How can I forget about meditation? I meditate regularly as I believe in a a fit mind in a fit body. I think regardless of your profession, one must meditate to maintain a healthy mind.

Breathing affects a person’s behavior and thought process. Hence breathing right is very important. Breathing exercises and Pranayamas also help a lot in out well-being.

These are some of the fitness tips and diet advice shared by the gorgeous lady.

Interestingly, in a poll conducted for compiling a list of 50 most desirable women of 2010, she had got the number 10 slot.

Not a bad start for the dusky, young lass!

I would emphasize starting out slowly but steady. Walk briskly 5 days a week for 20 to 30 minutes. Drink a lot of water, your body weight divided by 2 and drink that in ounces. Get a good DVD on strenght training and follow that too. I find really great advice and ideas on Prevention's online site. They have a health tracker that you can use to keep focused and see your progress.

Stretching is the only way. The more you stretch the more flexible you are but the less you stretch the less flexible you are.

TRY THIS, and stick to it.
the first 3-4 weeks are the hardest until your boy adjusts to the change.
Results will be in about the same time
    Fruits and Veggies
Eat more plants and keep away from stuff that was made in plants.
don't eat anything that comes in a can, box or package...THEY HAVE ADDITIVES IN THEM THAT MAKE YOU ADDICTED TO THE FOOD
If man made it, don't eat it

    Stay away from FAST FOOD

Don't think of it as a diet, but think of it as a lifestyle change

I have lost 25.5 pounds in 2 months, drink lots of water. I usually eat a meal of what ever I want once a week....controlled portion....this really works.........

Write down every thing you eat

Take a multi vitamin at night

The pattern for losing weight is simple - consume less food and move more often - the difficulties arise when we actually try to put that into operation! There are loads of stumbling blocks in the big wide world aren't there?! The sole method that definitely worked for me was wu-yi tea, it can be checked out in the resource box underneath, they have a small number of free trials left, it has been highlighted in Reader's Digest and USA Today. I worked off 30 pounds, it definitely does work!

The best type of dancing would be whatever you enjoy most. Think of it this way, yes one dance will burn more calories than another, but if you enjoy one dance you will do it longer and more frequently, thus creating an enjoyable exercise that burns more due to frequency.

    Healthy Eating
Google Heart Foundation Eating Plan and check out the diet soup recipe. Cut down to no fat dairy, eat 2 fruit and 5 veg a day. Grain bread, lean meat. No takeout. 6 smaller meals a day trains your metabolism to eat fat.
    Exercise
At least 3 times a week. Start your mornings with some basic stretches. Go for a power walk pushing the stroller for 20 mins each day or second day. Progress to jogging or bike riding as you feel more able. Eventually aim for pilates 3 times a week cause that will tone your tummy up quick smart.
    Detox
Healthy detox to get rid of water retention from the baby. Get one from the chemist.
Don't forget to rub Viatmin E oil on your stretch marks as you lose weight. And remember, it takes TIME. Expect good results AFTER 6-8 weeks.

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

  14. Which dance is the best to learn for fitness and beginners ?

I would suggest hiphop because it is the only one that requires no technique. there are lots of basic steps in tap that are taught at a early age and it is not easy to catch up. ballet and jazz require flexibility and LOTSSSS of technique. you need style to dance hiphop but there is no right or wrong way to do any move so i think that is your best bet. it is also an awesome cardio workout after you learn the choreography for a dance and are just bustin it out over and over. plus its super fun
