Remedy for itchy dandruff- Readers contribution

For very itchy dandruff, try the following home remedy. Take about 1½  teaspoons of powdered black pepper (Kali mirch) seeds, mix with half cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of vinegar. Apply to the scalp and a little more on the irritated area. Let it stay for 35 minutes. Wash it off with any shampoo of your choice. Continue this treatment once a week till all the dandruff disappears. Don’t discontinue this treatment altogether. Instead of a week, use it once in two months.

Dry scalp can feel "tight", a sensation that is sometimes accompanied by flakiness & dandruff. It is often the result of natural oils being stripped from our scalps & can be caused by the frequent use of shampoos, hair dyes and or other hair products

A little sun exposure is good for dandruff, That's because direct ultraviolet light has an anti-inflammatory effect on scaly skin conditions. And it may explain why dandruff tends to be less severe in summer.Limit sun exposure to 30 minutes or less per day

There is a home remedy of putting yogurt in your hair and then washing after an hour so. But if u have that bad dandruff use a medicated shampoo.....try to alternate it with ur regular shampoo.

  5. You need to wash your scalp more often but with a much milder shampoo than you've been using. It also sounds as if you are not rinsing enough. Shampoo only loosens the oils and dead skin cells. It's water that actually rinses the junk away. So rinse, then rinse some more. And when you think you've rinsed enough, rinse again.
