Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash: Review

I have used quite a few Dove products ( Dove Beauty Bar Pink/Rosa & Dove Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash) before and really liked them. Currently I am using their Hair Fall Therapy Shampoo and Conditioner. Will post a review on that soon.

So when 3 bottles of Dove Body Wash with NutriumMoisture™ – Deep Moisture, Sensitive Skin, and Gentle Exfoliating arrived at my doorstep all the way from US, I was thrilled.(The folks from Dove sent it.) It was all the more exciting for me as I was getting a chance to try a product that has won one of Allure magazine’s 2009 Best of Beauty Breakthrough awards.

Dove Nutrium Moisture Body Wash

How it works:

All regular body washes cause skin damage as they actually damage proteins and lipids in the skin’s outer layer (called the stratum corneum) during the cleansing process, which leads to critical moisture loss. Even the heavy moisturizers that are often added to compensate for this loss just tend to sit on the surface of the skin without getting fully absorbed as they aren't identical to the skin's natural moisture.

But the Dove Body Wash collection with NutriumMoisture™ technology takes a dual approach to healthy, nourished skin by preserving both proteins and lipids during cleansing and cares for surface skin ten layers deep. NutriumMoisture™ is a breakthrough formula of soybean oil and natural lipids that nourishes the skin deep down.

My experience:

I've been using all the 3 Dove Body Washes for over a month, and I have begun to notice a difference in my skin. In winter, I normally used to slather a body lotion at least twice a day, but now I no longer have to as my skin feels quite moisturized.

All the body washes are of a very creamy consistency almost akin to a body lotion. But when you slather them on your body they spread quite easily, cleanse well and make you feel refreshed and clean. My favourites are Deep Moisture and Gentle Exfoliating

Both these have a pleasant scent which isn't too overpowering. You can feel those tiny blue beads gently caressing your skin when you use the Gentle Exfoliating Body Wash, but I have to admit that it's quite mild and could suit sensitive skin as well.

Deep Moisturizing is the thickest and creamiest of all, lathers up well and is highly moisturizing -- most suited during winters.

Sensitive skin Body Wash isn't bad per se and is almost as good as Deep Nourishing. But the slight downside is there is a small hint of a clinical smell (which I didn't like) even though it is mentioned that it has no fragrance.

Apart from that I think it's a wonderful body wash for sensitive skin as it is hypo-allergenic and dermatologist tested product.

I have been using Deep Moisture and Gentle Exfoliating. for only a few days, but have noticed my skin is much more silkier then ever. The product’s fine blue granules scrub gently away my dead skin cells, while the moisturizing effect makes my skin soft and smooth. The scent of the body wash
is very appealing, the scent is not too strong or too flowery, it is just perfect.

I bought the new Dove Exfoliating body wash and really like it. It smells wonderful and you can use it on your face and your whole body. It is an exfoliating , so it's supposed to remove dull and lifeless skin.

Recently I tried Dove Deep Moisture Body wash. I really like it. This body wash is very rich and thick. It felt very good as I scrubbed all over with it. It lathered okay and rinsed off clean. My skin does feel moisturized a little bit as I use it.
