Clarins Joli Rouge Moisturizing Lipstick

Lips are prone to drying as they do not have oil-producing glands. Keeping them moist and chap-free in winter is a bit of challenge. Dry lips prompt you to lick them in an effort to moisten them. But the function of saliva is to aid in the process of food digestion by starting to dissolve it; so instead of moistening your lips, saliva is actually corrosive and irritates, exfoliates, cracks and further dries them. Instead, lip balms, ointments like aquaphor and petroleum jelly, and other viscous coatings are the way to fix your chapped lips, advises Dr. Schultz from DermTV.

You should also choose a lipstick with moisturizing properties; there are dozens of them around. Joli Rouge by Clarins, available in a delicious raspberry flavour, for instance, is a highly moisturizing lipstick that hydrates, restructures and redefines lips, and will not bleed or run. Now that's a wonderful way to have luscious, hydrated and chap-free lips in winter.

I really love Estée Lauder's lipsticks. Although they are a bit pricy I think they are totally worth it. To get off the "old ladies" image you should try their new Pure color gloss stick line (I love them).

If you have time, blot color with a tissue to remove excess product.
