Eliminate bad breath (halitosis) completely by brushing your teeth regularly

If you have been suffering from bad breath lately the reason could just be your lackadaisical attitude towards dental hygiene and not an indication of something severe. So before rushing to try those over-the-counter medications or resorting to home-remedies, just make sure you are not neglecting your mundane regimen of brushing and flossing teeth twice a day.

At the beginning and end of the study, researchers measured mouth air levels of odor-causing bacteria and analyzed tongue scrapings for 20 species of bacteria known to cause bad breath. Almost all participants eliminated their halitosis after using this triclosan-containing toothpaste and a tongue cleaner.

Hold your brush at a 45-degree angle against your gum line# To clean the inside surfaces of your top and bottom front teeth and gums, hold the brush almost vertical. With back and forth motions, bring the front part of the brush over the teeth and gums. Using a forward-sweeping motion, gently brush your tongue and the roof of your mouth to remove the decay-causing bacteria that exist in these places. Gently brush from where the tooth and gum meet to the chewing surface in short (about half-a-tooth-wide) strokes. Brushing too hard can cause receding gums, tooth sensitivity, and, over time, loose teeth.

Brush after each time you eat and before you go to bed. But, flossing is also important. Floss at night to be sure all the particles of food are removed. It's a nuisance, but brushing doesn't get all the bits that are stuck between the teeth.

Ofetn bad breath comes from the gut. What I mean is that it is not your mouth it is what is going on in your digestive system which will be to do with diet. So adressing the mouth will be innaffective. You need to have a look at what you eat and that is alos probably why the whole family has it because you all eat the same types of food. High protein diets make your breath stink. Eating a lot of meat also.
