Home-made face wash

One of my friends just hated using soap because even a mild soap made her face always taut and dry. No amount of creams could rectify this dryness that would occur after using soap. She did try using face wash; but the result was not up to her satisfaction. Then one of her friend’ mother suggested a simple home-made face wash recipe. She was delighted with the results after using it. Here is that simple, inexpensive but a sure and effective recipe which she has shared with me.

Ingredients
100 grams Moong dal (Green lentils)

50 gm channa dal or Besan (gram flour)
10 gms fenugreek(methi) seeds
2 to 3 pieces of turmeric (haldi)
milk cream
Method
Powder fenugreek (methi seeds) and turmeric pieces and mix with besan or channa dal powder. If turmeric pieces are not available then use 10-15 gm of turmeric powder instead. Store this powder in a container and use a little of this powder mixed with milk cream (malai)and wash your face with this instead of soap or a face wash.

Regular use of this powder will make your complexion smooth and blemish-free. This is ideal for those who have a dry skin, but can be used for all skin types too.

I would try a face wash that is made for people with sensitive skin or I know a few brands make face wash that is made to not dry out your skin. Just read labels and see how it might affect your skin. If that doesn't help then maybe get a non-oily facial moisturizer and use it once a day either in the morning after you wash your face or at night before you go to bed.

see this is not a problem..this is the type of your skin...your skin type is oily thats it..many people have this kind of skin...for oily skin problem you should always use gel or water based products never use cream based products....and you can rub thin chilled apple slices on your skin for 5-8 mnts as it will remove extra oil from your skin without leaving it dry....try it...it will definitely going to help you

Your skin is a barrier protecting you against all those invaders from outside. If you go washing it with really hot water, hoping that you'll beat the spots, then you're wrong. You're just going to damage the skin and lose out to those external invaders thanks to weaker skin. Accept that your spots are caused by hormones, and adjust your diet - less sugars etc. The damage from internal reasons is unavoidable if it's from the hormones, so you must accept it. All you can do is avoid damaging the skin, and as a result, you'll lessen the chance of scarring it and leaving it more vulnerable to invaders - which will cause boils and terrible puss spots.

When washing, try a gentle foaming face wash with Witch Hazel in it. Don't be hungry for quick results, so don't dispense so much that it covers your face like shaving foam! Do this, once with your shower, then, if you need it, moisturise with E45 lotion. I find the light body milk one very useful. This will prevent cracking and soreness, and won't clog you up. You'll look much fresher, cleaner, and your skin will breath good. Remember, don't use too much. Don't use so much you shine horribly, or you'll just clog up again, thus need another wash.

Take it easy, wash calmly once in the shower (don't care about night as a full day to recover from the abrasion of washing is necessary for the skin), then let your body heal the skin.

Use less soap and styling products. Using an excess of products in the shower or when styling can dry out the skin or make hair oily and unmanageable. Use a light hand when doling out either.

Use the type of cleanser designed for your skin type (for normal, dry, oily, and so forth).
Avoid washing your face with soap, as soap will dry your skin.
If your facial cleanser seems too oily, try using a bar cleanser (again, not soap), instead. They tend to be less oily.
    Don’t forget your neck!

Never use hot water--Face to face and skin, do not the sauna, the biggest difference between warm and hot water is heated to allow the face-cell contacts are not tight temperature, while the hot water is a direct result of large pores!

Cleansing is arguably the most important part of your basic skincare routine. Proper cleansing gets rid of old surface skin cells, dirt and dust, grime, make-up and bacteria, and keeps skin pores free of clogs and able to breathe freely. Cleansing also aids circulation and prepares the skin to receive topically applied nutrients and lipids.

Cleanse twice a day, no more. Unless you have exposed your skin to excessive dust, grime or pollution, twice-a-day cleansing is more than adequate for any skin type. Cleansing too often strips your skin of precious natural oils. Not cleansing regularly, particularly before you retire for the night, may lead to build-up and eruptions.

Use half a pack of plain instant oatmeal, mix with two squirts of honey, ½ cup lemon juice, a squirt of rubbing alcohol, and some tomato juice.
    Mix with a spoon.
Then, apply to the face, leave on for 5 minutes, wash off.
It helps lighten the appearance of bright red pimples, eliminate blackheads, prevent future breakouts/blackheads, and smooths the skin while ridding of excess oils.

The outer layer of skin has to maintain the right acid balance, the pH value, needed for the skin to function properly and stay in tact. Many traditional soaps have a pH value close to that of detergents. When you wash with them, they increase the pH value – meaning the level of acid decreases. This destroys the skins protective layer and causes dry, cracking skin – even cracks invisible to the naked eye are enough to compromise the skins integrity – acne, and other skin conditions.Switch to cleansing lotions or soaps with a pH value that’s good for the skin: 4.6 to 5.5 is perfect

Another great natural face wash is a combination of 2 tablespoons of fine colloidal oatmeal, 2 teaspoons of almond meal, 2 teaspoons of honey powder, 2 teaspoons of milk powder, 1 teaspoon clay, 2 grated tablespoons of pure castile soap. Combine them together and store in a glass jar. At the time of use, mix with a little mineral water, leave the paste on for 10 minutes and then wash it off. While making a natural face wash for acne, ensure that you include ingredients such as tea tree oil or benzoyl peroxide, which work wonders for acne.

Another natural face wash recipe that works is ½ tsp. of salt mixed with ½ cup cold milk. Dip a cotton cosmetic pad (a regular cotton ball will work too) in it and wipe your face with it. Let it dry and apply another coat. This time apply the milk mixture using gentle circular motions, and then rinse it off with water.

A good natural face wash for oily skin can be made by combining mashed papaya or avocado together, and adding one teaspoon of honey and yogurt each to it. Mix it well together, and possibly even blend them. Apply this mixture to your face and leave it on for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off

  22. I use the organic Sukin range available in health shops. It's simply marvelous & doesn't cost the earth( their slogan - but it's true). www. sukin.com.au. I have tried home remedies but one needs so many different ingredients that it is not worth it. And have a look for all the nasties - sometimes it's frightening what the companies are putting in there.

irst of all, washing your face shouldn't be an option, it's mandatory!!

If you don't wash your face every morning and night, bacteria will grow inside your pores, which leads to black heads and acne.

I recommend using a gentle cleanser such as "Spectrogel for blemish-prone skin". When washing, you must be very gentle; do not scrub hard and for a long time, because that can cause acne. When you scrub, you should barely even feel your hands on your skin!

The cleanser you are using might:

    a) be too harsh for your sensitive skin
    b) cause allergy reactions
    c) dry out your skin too much that your skin becomes more oily in the process

so I suggest you stop what you're using right now. And as for your blackhead problems, exfoliate 2-3 times a week with a facial pad or with a really good exfoliate. This will make your skin "glow" and take away dead skin.
Moisturize everyday after you finish washing, preferably with a moisturizer that has sun protection in it. (I suggest aveeno brand) use luke warm water to wash, not cold, not hot.

  25. instead of patting your face dry (after you've washed it) with a towel, rather use a couple of tissues. It will have way less bacteria and you won't have to worry about washing the towel all the time Smile Also always apply facial products (eg. face moisturizer) in UPWARDS circular motions because you want to lift your skin up, not pull it down!

Olive Oil Sugar Scrub. It is very good for dry skin and acne. Also, it helps heal blemishes too and retains natural moisture in your skin. No the olive oil will not clog your pores. Ancient Greeks used to wash their faces with Olive Oil and Italian women swear by this natural miracle product.
    Ingredients
3 tablespoons of EXTRA Virgin Olive Oil - Must be extra virgin, not virgin olive oil or regular olive oil and for goodness sake you cannot slather on frying grease on your face.. =)
    1/2 cup of Granulated Sugar
2 tablespoons of Honey - Any honey is fine, and if you are allergic to honey, DO NOT use it! Substitute it with aloe vera.
Mix it all together in a plastic container with a lid (that way you can save the rest for next time).

The mixture should not be too liquidy, oily or grainy. It should feel mushy, depending on what honey, sugar or olive oil you have. It should have a mushy consistency.
Wash your face with your regular cleansers.
Then apply this mixture on your face, evenly exfoliating your skin. The sugar will remove dead skin cells and the olive oil and honey will nourish your skin keeping it moisturized. I say leave this treatment on for 2 minutes.
Wash your face with warm water.
Pay dry and treat and moisturize your face.
Your skin should not feel slippery or oily, if it does you added way too much olive oil. It should feel soft and moisturized. You should automatically see a glow in your skin due to the honey and olive oil.
I use this treatment. Try it every three days. It is very natural and light and works great for all skin types.

This is a really good way of drawing spots out and cleaning the pores so there is no more spots.
Boil a kettle, put the boiling water in a small bowl and then place a towel over your head and bowl making sure no air escapes and you have your own "free" sauna for your face.
Yogurt is an excellent cleanser for face natural yogurt use it like a face pack leave on for twenty min and wash off. Avacardo is good
    same principle.
heat on the face will really work to clear out clogged up pours that cause the spots. Use it daily

The less products you use, the better for your skin.. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday. The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free. I also don't use liquid on my face for anything, and very little moisturizer, not even a dime size. I use your home made face wash.
Good skin also comes from your good genes. Increase your fresh fruits & vegetables 3-5 servings per day. And programmed your mind to do this day after day, for the rest of your life.
